10. RELIGIOUS BONDAGE
By

Religions promise freedom yet produce bondage all over the world.  Many millions of people who are bound ought to really be free.  Yet they are not.  Many, perhaps most, will never be free from religious bondage.

Bondage means capitivity, a type of slavery, suggests bonds, and is a real lack of freedom.  Mind bondage is the Devil's delight.  Religious and denominational bondage was rampant down through their histories.

Bounds include old time-worn traditions which waste time and often cause boredom and depression.  Along with these traditions are time consuming, time wasting and life wasting rituals.  Contradictory religious rituals are practiced all over the world.  They are not Spiritual values but dead weight.  Old false traditions and worthless rituals help to ruin many human lives.  A human life is too valuable to waste or to be ruined!

Superstitions are other ropes of bondage which strangle the minds of religious people.  Superstitions are false and absurd beliefs.  They include religious superstitutions, and such things as omens, charms, other occult beliefs, and non-rational and illogical ideas of ghosts, spooks and spells.

Although religionists unconsciously try to keep bondages separated from their sanity, the task grows more difficult.  Bondages can actually cause psychoses (insanity).

There are so many contradictory notions about moralities in religions, church denominations and cults that it is almost unbelievable.  Such nonsense moralities are more chains of bondage.

Myths, legends, lies, and false doctrines and practices prevent Spiritual growth and they stunt intellectual development.  Religions around the globe pervert, screw-up, subvert, and misuse education.  Religious teachings entangle people in religious yokes of bondage.  These yokes are not easy, and they are actually heavy burdens which are grievous to be carried.

Repetitions of meaningless prayers uttered or chanted over and over again are without real purpose and are a waste of time.

Taboos of many different types run rapid in religions, church denominations and cults.  There is a "taboo bondage" which makes a kind of slave out of people.  Taboos often destroy meaning and purpose in life.

Religious prescriptions of various types are ordered by religious hierarchies which themselves are bastions of bondage.  Few things are in more bondage than the hierarchies of religions, church denominations and cults.

Religious political bondages are another method of entangling people in time wasting activities.  Political priests and preachers and political religious organizations are sly kinds of bondage and Spiritual slavery.

Religions promise freedom around the world and deliver bondage.  Escape from the caves of this bondage seems impossible.  But it is not totally impossible.
