The Dragon's Page

Hello folks,

I have always been fascination by dragons, unicorns and other mythical creatures and beings. So I thought I would set up a page with links, pictures and information about it. I hope ya'll like visiting here and checking out all the things here in The Dragon's Page. If you know of any sites not listed here please feel free to e-mail me and let me know what they are. All the sites linked here are by permission and/or have been sent to me by other folks. Please have fun and enjoy.

My list is only a small glossary of mythical creatures and beings. There is a most larger glossary in Windseeker's Lair of Mythical Realms. Please check it out too.

Fairies - is a imaginary creature that appears in the folklore of Western Europe. Fairies have magic powers, which they use to perform both good and bad deeps. Fairies are usually helpful, but they often behave mischievously & occasionally act cruelly. Other names are brownies and pixies.

Unicorn - was a strange animal described in ancient Greek and Roman myths. It was said to look much like a horse, except that on it's forehead it had a single straight horn with a spiral twist. It's name means one-horn. According to legends the horn was able to nuifify poisons and to heal all wounds. Only those pure of heart and soul could approach a unicorn.

Griffin - is a strange creature of Greek mythology with the head, wings and front legs of an eagle and the body of a lion. Ofen seen in coat of arms. It is also used for our local Jr. High School mastcot.

Centaurs - is a creature in Greek Mythology that was half man and half horse. Centaurs lived in northern Greece & most of them were wild and lawless. The most famous centaur was Chiron. Unlike the others, he was wise and just. He taught many of the lesser gods and heroes of Greek mythology and was accidentally killed by Hercules.

Cerberus - The three headed dog that in Greek legends guarded the entrance to the underworld.

Dragon - A reptile like creature found with or without wings. According to legend it is said that they breath fire, are used to guard ancient Wizards treasures and dwell all over the world. Western folklore almost always shows a dragon as evil and animal-like. But Eastern folklore shows a dragon as a sign of good and intelligent being. And all the stories agree the dragons were magical.

Elves - Are a mythical people that tends to have a strong ability toward magic. They tend to live in woodlands and to live for centuries. Depending on the folklore elves can be a tall people of grace and beauty or can be a little short pixie like people. Please check out the links I have listed on Elfquest. I think you will enjoy the Artwork and info you will find there.

Wizards - A person according to folklore who is gifted in the use of magic. They are known for their use of spells and potions.

Merpeople (Mermaid) - Men and women with the tail of a fish and the upper body of a human. Said to be the offsprings of Triton or Neptune, Gods of the Seas. The song of a mermaid (female) has been said to be able to entice sailors to their death.

Pegasua - According to Greek Myth a horse with wings. That was created by the Greek god Zeus.
