John Russell came in the Boat, brought a Letter from Bror Isa, dated 1t May, he came in the Wolf for Fogo, but was put on Shoar at Tilting Harbour, sent away the Greens Pond Boat, & the Shalloway, with 70 Hds Salt to Tilting Harbour, Young Jacob Tavemer brought in 8 Qts fish, & several more had good putts

Thursday June 19th Wd SW & drisling, have the Brig Adm. Hughes down and find her bottom very bad, sheathing eat up with the worms, ut in several pieces of new, naild it, suppose lo Wth of a side, her upper in order so leaky could not keep her down.

Austin quarrelid.

Leghorne advise the badness of the fish & the salmon from Labradore, the Trinity fish damp & ordinary sold to equal for 50 to 52 when the other cargo sold for 75 Pauls if the fish had been good or well secur'd from the old there would not been 23 Pauls difference.

Yesterdays Post brot me a Letter from John Garland 25th June St Johns advising saying that he had disposed of 10,000 Qtl of the Old fish 17/6 to 18 p P Qtl that his late Vessells arrived and the price of fish was falling, & he thot of sending home the Unicorn & Beavers Cargo is no Sale on their Arrival he says Mr Knight arrived the 22d & says he left the Henry Capt Wanhill this day before & that he must be in Trinity next day -- the little Bank fishery goes on well, but the Shoar fishery poorly bottom Trinity Bay well, none of the Boats to ye Norward fitting out yet -- the Ice on the Coast -- the Benjamin after discharg'd proceeds to Gander Bay for timber

I've had dozens of requests for my opinion on the worth of receiving the above. $105. 00 US money for all mentions of the name Knight. For me it was a big disappointment. If I had to rank the value of the Keith Mathew's Files, that would be a 10. Lloyd's Lists would be a 4 and Lester's Diaries would be a 2. Of course I am researching a known mariner. If your just researching your great aunt Milley than stay away from all three.
