"Genealogy Notes" of Newfoundland
In the late 17th century a John Chevallier of Jersey came to Newington , NH and his son William Knight began a settlement in Quidi Vidi, Newfoundland. By 1768 Michael Knight Sn had married Sarah Brace and in 1776 that union produced a son Michael Thomas Knight. Michael Thomas married Rachel Chancey and by 1799 they gave birth to my gg-grandfather, John Temple Knight. John Temple married Mary Ann Vincent and they gave birth in 1846 to my g-grandfather, Temple Knight. Temple married Elizabeth Ann Rowsell and in 1896 they gave birth to my grandfather James (Jessie)Knight. Jessie left Jackson's Cove in the Green Bay area for the Boston States at age 17 and promptly married 17 year old Kristina Soder, a recent immigrant from Sweden. That marriage produced my mother, Alice Knight, and with help from Elmer Beagan, a orphan from Prince Edward Island, they brought me into this world in 1941, baptized Allen Temple Beagan. So about 250 years of "Genealogy Notes" are included in the links to the left and the search for more continues.
