: February 1999, to see the Asian Museum and the Permanent Collection; 8 June 1999, to see the Diego Rivera exhibit and review Edward Kienholtz' "Back Seat Dodge"

: The weather played an April Fool's Trick on us, so we took a rain check on the trip and went on April 8 to see Frank Lloyd Wright's Hollyhock House, the Municipal Art Gallery, the grounds, and the views all around, including one of the Griffith Park Observatory and Hollywood Sign. The Japanese American National Museum, 15 April 1999: Some Haiku collected from the Japanese American National Museum on our visit, as we were doing a poem a day for national poetry month
Grand Central Market
The Bradbury Building: We looked at the old ironwork banisters and railings that the Bradbury is known for, shown as an abandoned downtown building in the futuristic/postmodern "Blade Runner."

What we've been talking about:

The La Brea Tar Pits: The Tar Pits are on Wilshire, just east of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. The Page Museum, just behind the Tar Pits, exhibits the ice age fossils found in the tar pits.

The Central Library: We talked about it and asked if that library was the one in "City of Angels."
