Ruxandra's Story

Ruxandra was bone on October 24th, 1972 in Pitesti, Romania. She is a right handed player, like every 19 out of 20 players on the court. She now resident at Bucharest, Romania. She is 5ft 6in tall (same height as Martina Hingis) and weighs 127 pound.

Ruxandra is not the high ranking tennis player. Her highest single ranking so far is 15th on  August 25, 1997. Her highest double ranking is 21on September 8, 1997. Yet she continues to improve, she was seeded 15th in the '98 Australia Open  made it to the 4th round. She eventually lost to Lindsay Davenport (2), 6-0, 6-0. (Everyone has a bad day sometimes!)

Ruxandra has yet to won a Grand Slam title (like many others), her career title for single is 4 and her career title for double is also 4. Isn't 4 just her lucky number?

Ruxandra is a player with future, while many others will argue, but I believe that her achievement will surpass Irina Spirlea's, just wait and see! She is the one! I wish her good luck in the future.

Grand Slam History (Up to before the '98 Australia Open)

Reached the fourth round at last year's Australian Open, her best showing in four appearances at Melbourne; one of the most improved players on the tour in 1997; advanced to her first Grand Slam quarterfinal at the French Open, losing to eventual champion Iva Majoli; captured her lone singles title of the year at the Wilkinson Lady Championships in June, but followed that with a first-round loss at Wimbledon; lost to Majoli in the final of the Rexona Cup in Hamburg, Germany; also suffered a first-round defeat at the U.S. Open.

I actually wrote this biography myself, do you believe it? It's not copied from someone else! (Since Ruxandra has no web page, I guess I got no where to copy from.) Hope you've enjoyed it!
