A Day In Detention Part Three by: Tiffany

"What kind of game would this be, Abby?" Andie asks curiously.

"Oh, it's our favorite isn't it?" Abby says smiling at Dawson, Joey, Pacey, and Jen. They roll their eyes in acknowledgement. "It's called truth or dare."

"Oh, no you don't." Dawson mutters testily. "We aren't playing that pointless pathetic game!"

Abby laughs. "God, we're just going to have a little fun. A little harmless, innocent F-U-N."

Pacey laughs. "Innocent fun coming from the mouth of Abby Morgan. Are we on Mars or something?"

She narrows her eyes. "No, Witter I'm not from Mars. That's where the idiots like you come from."

Andie hears the last comment and becomes angry. "Abby, shut up." She hated when people thought he was stupid.

Abby ignores Andie. "Whatever. I think we need a change of scenery to play this game. Let's hit the gym, my little juvenile offenders."

"And the purpose of the gym is..?" Jack asks. He actually thought Abby was pretty interesting, she might even make detention bearable.

Abby leans in close to Jack. "It's a surprise." She walks down the hall, then turns around. "Well, come on people, we don't have all day."

Jack is the first walk up to Abby, then Jen and they all stare at the four left. Pacey looks at Andie.

"I can't miss one of her pathetic attempts at fun. It's amusing. Come on."

"Okay," Andie replies, and she and Pacey go over to join the group.

Dawson and Joey are left remaining. Both stand there, ackwardly.

Abby can't take it anymore. "Look, I realize that not participating in our little adventure would be opportunity to have a quickie in the hallways, but please restrain yourselves."

Dawson looks at her, his eyes burning with anger. He folds his arms over his chest.

Joey however isn't impressed. "What's the matter, Abby? You aren't getting any yourself? I guess the last time would be hmm...the orgie in the boy's locker room that never happened.."

Abby's smile fades quickly. "Look, are you coming or not?"

"Yeah, I'm in," she answers.

Abby looks at Dawson. "What about you?"

Dawson breathes out, "Fine."

Pacey begins walking backwards quickly. "Last one to the gym is a rotten egg."

Suddenly, the whole group begins running down the hallways, Pacey in the lead, and the girls tagging behind.

"C'est La Vie by: B*witched
Ohh Hey Hey (X2)
Hey you sittin in your tree
Mummy always wants you to come for tea
Don't be shy, straighten up your tie
Get down from your tree house sittin in the sky
I wanna know just what to do
Is it very big is there room for two?
I got a house with windows and doors
I'll show you mine if you show me yours

The group breathlessly reaches the gym. Pacey stands at the doorway, and smiles confidently. "I am just too good, I scare myself."

"Whatever." Abby says edging past him and pushes the doors open. The group walks over to the bleachers and sit down.

"Okay, who's going first?" Jack asks.

No one says anything. Joey stares at her hands. Dawson puts his head in his hands. Jen rolls her eyes, waiting for someone to say something.

Abby gets tired of the wait. "It's not much of a game, if someone doesn't go first. So...I'll go first"

Abby turns to Andie and says. "Truth or dare?"

"Truth," Andie replies confidently. She didn't have anything to hide, she thought to herself.

"Are you a virgin?"

Andie stares at Abby in shock, disbelief, and finally when the question had finally sunk it, irritation showed on her face. "That's none of your business."

Abby smiles. "This has nothing to do with being mine or anyone's else's business. It's a game, and the game is 'Truth or Dare'. So, tell us we're all dying to know."

Andie roams her eyes on the group, and they fall on Pacey. Pacey was however staring at Abby angrily. He'd get her for this today, I'll just let it slide until a little later, he thinks to himself.

"I vote the question invalid," Jack says through clentched teeth.

Abby waves her hand. "Well, we aren't taking votes, Jack."

Andie looks at the ground, her cheeks flushed from both embarassment and anger.

"Ah...I..I'm...I can't, I can't!" Andie runs into the girl's locker room in tears.

Jack walks over to Abby. "What the hell was that? This game sucks, and it's finished!"

Abby cocks her head. "Look it isn't my problem she couldn't answer the question, don't get angry at me."

Jack narrows his eyes. "Okay, then I ask you. Truth or Dare?"

"Truth, there is nothing that will make me sqirm. Give it your best shot."

Jack thinks for a moment, looking at Abby and wondering. What would make her squirm? He couldn't forgive for how she'd upset his sister. The girl was heartless, he decided. From the locker room, Andie is seen with a tissue in her hand, walking back to the group.

"Since you seem to be so fond of making other people miserable, answer me this. Is your misery because you have no friends?"

Abby's face falls, her head bends down. Her lips start to tremble, almost as if she was about to cry. She wraps her arms around herself and waits. Jack looks at her, and realized he had hit a nerve. He was surprised this question would make her quiet, if anything he expected another retort from her. Andie watches her and suddenly sees how vulnerable Abby is, and she's sad.

Jen yawns. "Abby, just answer the question."

Abby raises her head to meet everyone's eyes. Her face was pale, her eyes lost all signs of cheerfulness. All that remained was a sad young woman.

"I...I...ah..."Abby starts, her voice quivering and low. She steadies it. "You want the truth, well here it is. I don't have any friends."

Everyone except Andie, laughs outloud.

"It's true," Abby states quickly. "Jen could say she's my friend, but not really. We're each other's punching bag, not confidantes. We're escaping the realities of our current situations. So, you have it, I have no friends." And with that, Abby turns around and walks over to the bleaches quietly, and sits down. Jack stares after her.

Pacey decides not to get revenge on Abby. He was feeling too sorry for her.

Pacey looks at the group again. "Let's finish this." He says eagerly.. He searches for a potential victim...and spots immediately, Dawson.

"Okay, man. Truth or Dare?"

Dawson looks up at him curiously, wondering what Pacey had in mind for a question. "Truth."

Pacey could barely keep his laughter in check. "Do you sleep with an ET Doll?"

Joey looks up from staring at the ground and looks to Pacey with confusion. What kind of question is that, she thinks to herself.

Dawson's face flushes and looks at Pacey irritated. This was the most embarassing question he could ever imagine, wait check that, the when do you walk your dog question is more embarassing. If he says 'of course not' he would be lying. His ET doll occupied the top of the pillow beside him. Dawson looks at everyone. Abby and Jen were the only ones who didn't know about this, and despite Abby's showing a sign of humanity for the moment, he couldn't risk the possibly that she would tell all of study body via e-mail or word of mouth Monday morning.

Dawson swallows hard. "I..I changed my mind. I want a dare, Pace."

Pacey smiles, (Bingo, I got you!). "A dare, huh? Hmm...." He takes his time, letting Dawson sweat a little. "I dare you to kiss on the lips for 20 seconds." He points to the girl next to him. "Ms. Joey Potter."

Dawson turns Joey. His eyes soften for a moment, a chance to kiss Joey, he thinks to himself. He missed the softness of their lips meeting. But what would Joey think about this? He searches her eyes, hoping to see anything in her face, and he saw surprise and...dared he hope, a small smile.

"That's not a good idea." Dawson answers

Pacey expected Dawson to put up an argument. "And why not, my friend?" He eyes Joey. "Wouldn't you willingly kiss the beautiful Joey Potter?"

Dawson becomes nervous. His mouth gets dry, he looks from Pacey and then to Joey. "I......I didn't say that, Pacey. I said that given the circumstances, it would not be wise."

Now it was Joey's time to think about this. She stares at Pacey speechless. Did she have a problem with it? She turns to Dawson, who already had his eyes on hers and shrugs her shoulders. Joey was a little disappointed that Dawson didn't want to take the dare, but if Dawson wanted that, then fine, she would too.

"I'd have to agree with Dawson on this, Pacey. It's really not a good idea."

Pacey shakes his head. (No way, they aren't getting out of this). "Look, I don't care what you want, okay. I made the dare and unless Dawson here wants to eleborate on the ET doll, then pucker up you two."

Dawson and Joey walk up to each other, bodies almost touching. They look into each other's eyes, and they draw closer and closer. Joey could feel herself melting under his eyes. She wanted to kiss him, had wanted to for such a while, she missed him so much, more than ever letting on.

Dawson's breath quickened as their lips were inches apart. How he missed this, just the feeling, the sweetness that only existed between him and Joey. Their lips met softly, moving over slowly tasting and feeling. Dawson brought one hand to gently touch her cheek and deepened the kiss.

Pacey smiles and looks at Andie whose is also smiling. "6...7...8...9...10...11...12...13...."

kiss me won't you kiss me now
and sleep i would inside your mouth
don't be us too shy

Joey felt herself sinking further into it, and slid closer to him. She wanted more, wanted everything that was Dawson. His soft, gentle lips, mild smell of his coloque.

Andie chirps out.."18..19...20..." They aren't stopping. Andie says slowly..."Ah..okay guys you can..um... stop now."

Dawson and Joey linger a moment, their lips slowly drawing apart, breathing erratic. They stare at each other and step away. Joey's face is a little flushed and looks downward. Dawson folds his arms across his chest.

Pacey observes the aftermath of the dare between the two and smiles. "So, 'absence DOES make the heart grow fonder'?"

Abby looks at her watch..."12pm. Guys it's lunchtime! Mrs. Tringle is going to check on us....we have to go now, or we're dead!!" She rushes to the doors and calls out. "Let's go!"

Pacey stops Andie as the others rush to the doors.

"Pacey, what are you doing? We have to go." She says tugging his arm away.

"Wait, Andie, I have an idea." He says excitedly.

"Pacey, now really isn't the time for this." She says quickly. "If we don't leave now, you what happens? We get detention next week. And I'm not coming back here, understand? But no...of course not..you don't..."

Pacey suddenly pulls her close and kisses her. They relax into it, and Pacey breaks it off grinning and lowers his voice. "Now, just listen okay, and I promise I'll be quick. Remember I said that I needed Dawson to get back with Joey because I was tired of Speliberg's movies?"

Andie rolls her eyes and smiles. "Yes, Witter. What are you thinking?"

Pacey leans in close to whisper in her ear. "I'm thinking...there's a...um...pretty medium-sized room that the teachers store their supplies in and...let's just say our unhappy couple...sort of.."

"Get locked in, don't they?" she finishes. "Oh...I like the way you think. But, Pacey we need keys to lock the door."

"Of course, we'll just shimmy it, with this." Pacey explains taking out a small pin. "The supply room is in a secluded area next to the cafeteria."

"Okay, I get. Let's move!" Andie smiles taking his hand.

They go through the doors and run past the cafeteria. Pacey stops and points to Andie where the doorway is to the room and she nods. They reach the door, and Pacey begins to work on the lock with his pin. Within seconds, he opens the door.

"I don't want to know where you learned how to do that." Andie says shaking her head.

Pacey smiles knowingly. "You're going to find I'm a guy of many, many talents."

"Good grief," she answers.

Andie catches a glimpse of Dawson and Joey turning the corner at the end of the hallway, and she calls out to stop them. "Hey, guys, come back!"

Dawson and Joey turn around and see Andie waves at them. Dawson looks at Joey.

"What's up with her?"

"I have no idea, Dawson."

"Go hide behind the door." Andie tells Pacey.

"Yes, Madam." He says before giving her a small kiss.

Andie walks up to Dawson and Joey. She avoids looking them in the eye, she knew if she did, she would give herself away. Lying was not her strongest point.

"What's wrong?" Dawson asks.

"Pacey decided to screw around in that room over there, he tripped over some boxes and twisted his ankle."

Dawson and Joey start holding back their urge to laugh. Andie smiles, realizing that half the battle is done, since they believe what she's saying.

"Unfortunately, he can't get up," she continues. "I need you guys to help me to carry him out."

Dawson folds his arms across his chest. "I have to see this for myself."

"Me too," Joey says giggling.

So they all walk to the doorway. Andie says loudly. "PACEY, DAWSON AND JOEY ARE GONNA COME IN NOW."

(Inside the room)

Pacey stands behind the door, and crouches down among a sea of boxes.

"Okay, Andie, tell them to watch their step."

Dawson goes inside slowly at first. "Pacey? Where are you?" He looks around the supply room. Two bookcases were loaded with pens, pencils, paper, staples, etc. He goes toward the back of the room. Joey enters next stepping over to where Dawson is standing.

"Where is he?"she asks him.

Quick as a wink, Pacey jumps out from behind the door. "Haha, guys."

Dawson and Joey jump in surprise. "Pace, is this some kind of joke?" Dawson says his voice raised. Pacey always did pick the wrong time to do this stuff.

Pacey shakes his head and points to the two, Andie is behind him. "No, the joke is you two, okay. I am sick and tired of being the third person in your conversations...and.." He pushes Andie lightly. "McPhee here is too. Talk to each other, not to me, cause this little drama of 'unrequited love' is getting old. The acting is horrible, and if the ending doesn't end happily, someone is going to pay."

Joey makes a dash for the door, but Andie stops her. "No, you and Dawson are going to stay in here until you can figure out what the deal is, cause that kiss back here, is proof that your feelings for each other have no intention of dying out."

Pacey and Andie get to the door and shut it, as Dawson and Joey try and get to it. They hear the click on the doorknob and, realize that they are locked inside.

"Have fun." Pacey says close to the door.

He and Andie smile and they run down the hall and they "high-five".

"Witter, we are a born team." Andie says laughing.
