COMPUTER GAMES

Last updated: 2007.11

Here is a list of all the computer games I have credits on. Some of the box cover art are linked to pages of samples of art I created for the games. This page is still under construction. Sadly, I did not create any of the art used on the covers.

LEGENDS OF MIGHT AND MAGIC

(New World Computing/3DO) ‘01

I worked on a four or five characters and animations for this low-poly game, using the Lithtech engine, but they were townsfolk and the game changed--so townsfolk were cut.

MIGHT AND MAGIC 8

(New World Computing/3DO) ‘99

More characters, but primarily just modeling and texturing, many more Inventory Items: weapons and artifacts, and most all the armor and clothing for the paper dolls. Noted D&D artist, Larry Elmore did the cover art.

MIGHT AND MAGIC 7

(New World Computing/3DO) ‘99

We did most of the art for MIGHT AND MAGIC 7 in the winter of '98-'99 (the game was released June '99). I modeled inventory items (weapons and magic items), plus entry and indoor scenes. The great Boris Vallejo painted this box cover.

HEROES OF MIGHT AND MAGIC 3

(New World Computing/3DO) ‘99

We immediately began work on HEROES OF MIGHT AND MAGIC 3, which was highly anticipated since the previous versions were so well-received. iketched and modeled several characters and worked on Artifact icons and items and Adventure Screen objects.

MIGHT AND MAGIC 6

(New World Computing/3DO) ‘98

MIGHT AND MAGIC 6 was my second project working at New World Computing. The art is 3D and we all quickly learned 3DStudio-Max. I sketched, modeled and animated 6 characters/monsters. I also created several entryways to dungeons and castles. I produced PR sketches and dungeon maps for the manual, cluebook and website.

HEROES OF MIGHT AND MAGIC 2

(New World Computing/3DO) ‘96

I began learning 3D on Lightwave and worked on JOE'S APARTMENT, based on the film and the MTV shorts, while I was still at the Dreamers Guild. This game was the only project I worked on that was never published (as there are many games that never get published, I've been incredibly lucky in my career!). Before the project was cancelled I left for New World Computing in 1996. I immediately began work on HEROES OF MIGHT AND MAGIC 2, animating characters/monsters for the combat scenes using Deluxe Paint--this time on a PC. One of my paintings was used on the cover of Computer Games Strategy Plus Magazine to accompany an article on the game. New World was then newly a division of 3DO.

I HAVE NO MOUTH AND I MUST SCREAM

(The Dreamers Guild, Developer; Cyberdreams, Publisher) ‘95

In between projects, I worked on a couple of images for this—a pit of skeletons and some tortured bodies in the medical lab…

FAERY TALE ADVENTURE 2: HALLS OF THE DEAD

(The Dreamers Guild, Developer; Encore/K.O., Publisher) '97

After a hiatus from computer work, I returned full-time to the Dreamers Guild in the fall of 1994. Again, I sketched character designs, created characters and animated them using Deluxe Paint IV on an Amiga, and also did portraits. I designed over half of the characters in the game and created and animated about a fourth of them, along with a number of other artists. The cover art was done by one of the Hildebrants, if you can believe it!

INHERIT THE EARTH

(The Dreamers Guild, Developer; New World Computing, Publisher) ‘94

Some people I knew started up a game developer’s company called The Dreamers Guild. I began making character sketches, then as a contract I created and animated the wolves, the elks…about 50% or so of the characters. I also created most of the character portraits and some of the full-screen shots (such as the end scene of Rif and Rhene), using Deluxe Paint IV on an Amiga. I also did the pen and ink and graphite illustrations for the manual. The cover art was done by the wonderful Alicia Austin

(NO ART AVAILABLE)

HEROES OF MIGHT AND MAGIC

(New World Computing) ‘95

Manual art. Oddly enough, I free-lanced for New World while I was working full-time at the Dreamers Guild. In those days, companies weren't so paranoid about things.
