April's Resin Ball-Jointed Dolls
IRUSAN'S GALLERY

At this point, I have way too many dolls... But others have a lot, too, so amazing dolls keep coming up for sale on the Den Of Angels Marketplace, and unfortunately, I can't seem to pass some of them up!

The price of many dolls has been going down. They're still expensive, but some new companies have lower overheads and can make sell dolls at a lower price. Also, more people have dolls and are selling them from their personal collections. So it feels as if there are some bargains to be had. I was feeling a bit nostalgic for the old-style (old as in 5 to 10 years ago) BJDs that were more anime/manga style. I'd been reading a few manga after being away from it for a long while, and decided I should get an inexpensive Mini-sized doll and make him a catboy (this type of character shows up in a few fantasy manga). I looked around at lots of dolls in the $200 range, and there were plenty of cute ones. Then I saw this Karsh up on the Marketplace. He's twice that much, but I kept looking at him and the price was not so bad for that sculpt, but a lot higher than I wanted to pay for just a sort of BJD whim! But of course, I failed to resist, as usual.

Even before I saw the Karsh, I'd been looking for outfits (being kind of sick and obsessive that way). There aren't all that many that are even vaguely catboy-ish, but I'd see something close every now and then and pick it up (on ebay or doa marketplace). I was also looking around for cat ears. *shakes head* So, basically, I was doomed, no matter what.

Írusán is the King of Cats from Irish folklore and myth. It's a bit presumptuous of my boy to take that name, but hey, it's kind of cool, so I'm going with it.

Fairyland Minifee bjds are very popular, known for great engineering and posing. This is my first Minifee. The only other Fairylands I have are two of the tiny RealPukis. I'm kind of going back to my BJD roots in a manner because my first dolls were from Cerberus Project and they were sort of what Fairyland later grew out of.

Outfit from DoA Mktpl, boots from ebay, wig and tail from Ardeur de l'amour.

Eyes were the acrylic ones that came with him. Kind of a dark blue-ish green that are rather nice... although I might swap them out for lighter green eyes, eventually.

Love his face/faceup. So much expression. (He doesn't look very happy, does he?)

I'm lucky to have found this outfit. Not so many styles like this for mini-sized dolls, which I can understand. This guy is totally a fantasy doll, though. He's got elf ears (which you can't see, but he does!), for one thing. And catboys are definitely fantasy creatures.

He's my Christmas present for this year (which was WAY too full of dollies!). *___*

At the KBJD Show, 2014. Oscar Doll Eyes was there--very pretty urethane eyes with crystals and glitter-like pieces in the iris. So I scored a pair for my little guy.
