April's Resin Ball-Jointed Dolls
LILLY'S GALLERY

The BJDC 2012 in Ausin led me to get my DollTown Seola that was painted by Valerie Zeitler. As I was looking around for similar styles I saw a Doll In Mind Lalia head up on Ebay. The head had a faceup by Phantomdolls. I'd been stalking her lovely outfits for auction on ebay for a while.

The seller of the head also had a Phantomdolls outfit for sale, along with a wig and shoes from other sources. I bought those, too, because they looked so good together with the DIM Lalia head. All I had to do was buy a body from DIM and I'd be all set, so that's what I did!

GALLERY

I didn't do a box opening shoot since the head came in a small box and then the body arrived in a typical doll box from DIM via DDE. I just slipped the head on. Eyes were already set in the head. And I put on the outfit, wig and shoes that I'd bought with the head. I did put a little necklace that wasn't part of the outfit on her.

A very curious faceup by Phantomdolls--very soft and not highly detailed.

Here she is with the DollsTown Seola (Viola). The sculpts and outfits are compatible, but they definitely don't look related... The difference in skin tone is interesting because the Seola is "freshskin" (not white), and the Lalia is DIM's only skin tone (normal), but it definitely looks very, very pale... pretty much white.

Not a totally mis-matched pair. Well--they are getting along, no matter what! I'm thinking they are just friends, no relation.

Definitely an interesting sculpt. I never thought I'd like this style of doll, but there's definitely something there that draws me.

I like the Phantomdolls outfit a lot, too. She's made some absolutely stunning ones lately that have gone for $300 and up on ebay. This one is older and less expensive (second-hand).
