I saw the prototype/samples of these guys at the PeaksWoods book at Dollism Plus US 2014, in Buffalo, NY, and was very tempted, but they didn't come with the outfits since they still needed them for production samples. I actually was more tempted by the grey skinned version, but the suntan version was quite striking with the red wig... Anyway, I didn't want to try and carry a big doll back with me in luggage, so I was able to resist.
I also managed to resist during the selling period for these guys. There was a lovely version of the White Rabbit, too! But I definitely liked the spunky Hatter... I rather thought they weren't offering the grey version for some reason, so that helped (I was wrong--they did have him).
Then cancer and chemo and ignoring BJDs for months... But then I got bored and very, very tired of chemo and started looking around at dolls... And I saw that Denver Doll Emporium still had a few fullsets even though they were sold out over at Peakswoods' website. I was tempted! Asked about one, and it was sold. This Mad Hatter was left and I bit the bullet, since it was my last chance (unless I happened to catch one in a second-hand marketplace).
That he has a faceup by Nornen also totally sold me.
