April's Asian Ball-Jointed Dolls
XANTHOS' GALLERY

When this limited Soom Monthly Doll first came up for sale, I was tempted, but I was trying not to buy any Mini/MSD-sized dolls. Since then, I've caved on several that size, so when Soom offered him again in one of their Post-MD Events (selling extra dolls that weren't sold--perhaps because of unfinished layaways?), I was weak and put myself in for the lottery.

I was hoping to get as much of the full-set as possible, since I really liked the company photos of him. I was happy to hear that I was chosen for the lottery and able to buy him, but they said they didn't have enough outfits. So I ended up getting the default wig and the faceup only on the fantasy/faun head.

In a silly attempt to save on shipping, I bought several Soom Bi-Weekly outfits, and some sale event items. I think this greatly added to the waiting time, because I paid for him in December, but he wasn't sent until four months later. And then Soom told me that they had mistakenly sold all the wigs! I was annoyed (after spending so much and waiting so long), but it ended up all right, because I bought another wig that was cheaper and I like it a lot on him.

GALLERY

From the "Box Opening" shots, with Soom zipped pillow bag and parts.

Box Opening: Sanding marks on head-caps.

Blushing by me. Pastels, with MSC and Acrylic Gloss Medium over the hooves. Looks a bit too much like he has the measles, but it'll do for now...

Finally got him put together... The stringing hook wouldn't fit through the channels in his legs (which were bent), nor his hooves (too small), so I had to use a wire to pull the elastic through. There are s-hooks, supplied by Soom, in the bottom of his hooves. Got the Aphan outfit from a WTB on the DoA Marketplace.

Love his expression! Definitely a trouble-maker!.

Wig: Kemper mohair "Ashley" dark brown, 7-8, Eyes: glass, 14mm, green with blue, from ebay.

Blushed the hooves, legs and horns myself. Putting acrylic gloss on the hooves and horns really protects the paint from chipping off.

2014. September. Dollism Plus US. I haven't ever had a decent photoshoot with him before.

2014. September. Dollism Plus US. His expression really changes with the angle of his face... sometimes he looks kind of pissy, other times like he's up for trouble or some fun.
