Crystals and Gemstones carry energies that can be absorbed into your body. They can be used to heal, to enhance ritual and magick, to decorate tools, for meditation, creative visualization or enhance your spiritual qualities by carrying them in a pocket or wearing them as jewelry. They should be carried as close to the body as possible.
It is best to personally pick your gemstone, but they can be purchased by mail order. The best way to pick your gemstone is to handle it. See how it feels to you, feel it's energies. Never purchase a stone that does not feel right to you.
Before using your gemstones, always cleanse, consecrate and empower them. The use of gemstones should match your need. If you cannot remember the use of a gemstone, relying of the color will usually give you the magickal qualitities of the stone.

Candle Magick is very powerful. It can be the main focus of a spell, or can be used with other tools. You should choose a color that is representative of your need. Candles that are molded into shapes or have names, runes or other magickal symbols etched into them are used for sympathetic magick. I would suggest keeping a supply of candles of each color so that you don't find yourself lacking a color needed to your spell or ritual.
