Smoldering Desire

It is so hard to let go,
Of what was never mine,
And send what was only fantasy,
Back into it's fictional realm,

But hard nonetheless,
The candle of life does not flicker,
Tremble,
From my loss of heart,

And what was still so fragile,
Is still so delicate,
Just farther away,
Though it was, never, near,

Time's goons sent to devour,
Any shard of humanity,
Left with in my fire,
Doused up gently, smoldering desire,
