los Angeles

Hello and welcome to Los Angeles California.  This page contains information about Greater Los Angeles and all of its hot spots.  Los Angeles is a city that has something for everybody.  You can  walk along Hollywood Blvd. and Melrose Ave which have a variety of shops, restaurants, and theaters. The Pantages Theater hosts a lot of  first class entertainment. Griffith Park has the Observatory, located on top of the hill, providing a beautiful view of the city of Los Angeles. Beside the panoramic view, the Observatory also have a variety of Laser shows. See the Observatory Link for days and times.  This Park also has a lot of hiking trails, sport facilities, picnic areas for families. The Greek Theater which also hosts first class entertaining programs.  Gene Autry Western Heritage Museum and the Los Angeles Zoo is also located in the Griffith Park. In Beverly Hills, there are tours that go to the homes of the stars.  Beverly Hills is also home to the Hard rock Cafe, the Beverly Center, Rodeo Drive and the Century City Towers.   At night you can also visit the many clubs that are along the Sunset Strip and all over the City. The Getty Museum which is located in nearby Brentwood and Pacific Palisades has a lot of  famous paintings and beautiful gardens.  Three of California's most popular beaches are approximately 25 miles from the Getty Museum. They are Venice, Santa Monica and Malibu. I strongly recommend visiting the Santa Monica Pier. Hancock Park is home to the Page Museum and La Brea Tar Pits.  The  Down Town area is where you find the Dodger Stadium, the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, the Los Angeles Sports Arena, the Music Center and the University of Southern California Campus. All of the U.S.C home football games are played at the Coliseum. The Garment District in Down Town Los Angeles  is a place where you can do a lot of bargain shopping.   Also strongly recommended is the Macys Plaza, China Town, Little Tokyo and Olvera Street.
Every Year, after Thanks Giving the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce holds the Hollywood Christmas Parade. This parade features all the  movie and television Stars, all of the areas top bands competing against each other. On New years Day we have the Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena. This is not just a tourist attraction but it is also very popular with us locals as well. On the night before, a lot of people camping out in the very cold weather. The floats that you see in the parade, are an all year project for those who enter them. Following the Parade we have the annual Rose Bowl  Football Game. The Rose Bowl Stadium is also  located in the Pasadena area of Los Angeles and is the home stadium for the University Of California Los Angeles. The reason I did not mention U.C.L.A in the upper paragraph is because I am a U.S.C. fan.
