Prelude To An Evening Of Bliss...
(written by Lyric, Keeper Of His Image)

Peace and Love SuiteFamily! My spirit is soaring so high and free...the Creator is blessing me so affectionately! I have been unable to unwind from all that has happened in the last few days and I must note each blessing specifically herein:

I missed the train and ended up driving to New York alone and in a rain storm without a clue as to how I was going to get where I was going. But with prayer and common sense, I made it to the City fine. I left about 200 messages on EPIPHANY's voice mail in panic that I was late and to please meet VERSHELL at the train station at 2:15. I know she thought I was bugging, but I never been so freaked out in my life. As I made my way across the FDR (one hour in the making), FORTUNATE came on the radio and brought me a sense of peace.

It took me an entire hour to get from 35th Street to 31st Street because of the traffic, but I made it without incident...which is a miracle in itself if you are familiar with the way people drive in the City. I checked into the hotel as some FUWINE brother (Hey...RYAN!!!!) checked me in an informed me that someone had been waiting for me. I looked around...saw a very pleasant looking woman with a warm smile and AOS on her T-shirt! As I embraced her I knew immediately that only a "Mama" could make a hug feel so good...yes yall, it was MAMA VERSHELL...in from BALTIMORE to see her baby boy and the SUITEFAMILY! I told her all of the mishaps that I had encountered in the 48 hours that preceeded our meeting and with such motherease, she comforted me. We found our room and what a very nice room it was, it was everything we could need. Soon afterward I got a call from RYAN the reception guy (Hey RYAN...LOL!!!) and in his sexiest voice (I'm sure) he announced that we had guests...I asked that he send them up! I could hardly wait to see who it was...just couldnt wait until the knock on the door so I stuck my head out in anticipation and around the corner came two angelic faces, one familiar, one not...but I recognized EPIPHANY (JOYA)...she is the bomb, truly yall! Just so full of life and easy going...it was easy to see that she was very real and I dug that so much about her! She brought along her friend (and now mine) ALYSHA (Dang...that name sounds familiar...LOL) who also was just so beautiful and pleasant and just cool people! The four of us girlz hung out and got our MAXWELL chat on and even did a little gossiping...(gigglegiggle...EPIPHANY...girl to I have some $h!t to tell you...gigglegiggle), got us some Popeye's chicken and went back to the hotel to get ready for the concert. I mentioned briefly that I was wearing a turban to the concert and EPIPHANY and ALYSHA damn near blew a gasget cause they have been wanting to learn how to wrap there head for years. So off to the fabric store they ran to get material and when they returned, how about they wrapped their own turbans better then I ever could...LOL! You go girlz...I know you are rocking them lovely now!

We got dressed...nothing fancy...no labels...just us, and we all walked over to MSG...EPIPHANY and ALYSHA said their goodbyes (They were going to the Saturday show) and VERSHELL and I entered. Now yall know we headed straight for the souvenir shop...I spent damn near $100...2 T-shirts (1 $40 by itself), a poster, 3 souvenir pictures...it was all so worth it to me (yes I plan to sleep in that shirt till the face wears off...[lascivious grin]). As we entered the theater, I was overwhelmed by the idea that the time had come...this was it...a two year wait had ended! The theater wa quaint...very personal...in my opinion, there were really no bad seats in the house. I took my seat, VERSHELL took hers and shortly afterward...two people walked up to my row...the first...ALI...peacan brown brotha with a golden smile...head full of locks pulled back, giving rise to his cheekbones...had a sistah...well...never mind...LOL! And then MONA...very beautiful lady...also pecan brown with a touch of honey in her complection...gorgeous wavy long hair and doe shaped hazel eyes...her demeanor as sweet as her appearance...just a lady in every aspect of the word! A little later another sweet face appeared on the row...peacan brown must be the color in the City...beautiful eyes and an extremely fly braided hairdo that really brought out the beauty in her eyes...very gentle spirit (and now my personal astrologer)..SIRI! We all just clicked like we knew each other a lifetime! And then the concert begun.....
