fishing Our home in the Matanuska Valley, is located at the base of the picturesque Hatcher Pass. Abundant wildlife, including brown bears roam the woods surrounding our farm.We have six kids, Sierra(6), Rebekah(11), Jasmine(13), Rachel(18), Israel(20), and Jesse (26). Originally from Ohio, Don made Alaska his home in 1981. He works as a cable maintenance technician(telephone). He raced and finished the 86 & 87 Iditarod Sled Dog Race. Janet, a homemaker, is originally from NE Washington, and has been in Alaska since 1969. She trains the family horses, and also races sled dogs, including the Women's World Championship in 1995. Other activities the family enjoys are: gardening, fishing, running, berry-picking, mountain climbing, ice-skating, hunting, x-country skiing, other sports, photography, and just enjoying the outdoors.
