"Shakespearean Gene"
by Helen Rostmoff

The prototype for this Gene is
Elizabeth I
from a famous painting of Gheeraerts
the Younger dating to 1592.
Coral red used with gold and white
was a very popular color combination.
The Queen's dress is also embroidered
with real silver thread and fully hand-beaded.

Gene is repainted,
with a natural red-hair detachable wig.

The gown consists of an open
antique silk robe in a
"bell shape" created with a metal
hoop worn round the hips.
