Chris's Coloumn, Raw Vs. Nitro, Results, Ratings, Followups and more!!!

What was better this week, Nitro or Raw?

Well Nitro this week was a good one. Here are the results:
I'll post my rating's for each match and comments for the
match following each match.

Disco Inferno d. Lyn Denton
Wearing a very flashy silver ensemble, Disco dazzled Deton before the
match had even begun. Denton did manage to use his size advantage to
muscle the former TV Champion, but Disco rebounded with a surpirse
piledriver for the win.
My Comment:Disco fever!! Disco Fever!! YA YA YA YA!! Disco is COOL
My Rating :3 of 4

Yuji Nagata d. Tokyo Magnum
Magnum -- a student of Ultimo Dragon's -- was treated to some painful
extra-curricular action at the hands of Nagata. A master of submission
wrestling, Nagata applied countless holds to the newcomer, but fell
prey to an off-the-top huracanrana. The rookieís momentum didnít last
long. Nagata regained his senses and locked in his figure-four
variation for the submission.
My Comment:Nagata is OK but anyone trained by the Ultimo Dragon is
                better!
My Rating :2 of 4

Public Enemy d. Sick Boy and Horace with Lodi
The Flock members looked impressive against their more established
opponents, controlling Rocco Rock and Johnny Grunge with superior
tagging and Ravenesque dirty tactics. Lodi introduced a stop sign to
the mix late in the bout, but the international object ended up being
the downfall of his team. Horace not only ended up striking Sick Boy
with the sign, but felt the cold steel himself when Rock executed an
off-the-top shoulder-block. Rock scored the pin on Horace for the win.
My Comment:Public Enemy are cool but the Flock RULES! What about me,
                What about Raven?
My Rating :2 of 4

Goldberg d. Rick Fuller
US Title Match
Goldberg's latest winwas momentarily halted by a huge sidekick, but
the US Champ shook it off and Goldberg hit the Head Spear and the
Jackhammer for the win.
My Comment:No that match wasn't predictable!! (sarcasm)
My Rating :1 of 4

Alex Wright d. Eddy Guerrero
Pre-match, Chavo made his presence known by patting Uncle Eddy on the
tush. Offensive advantage went back-and-forth between these
cross-continentals in what proved to be a brutally physical matchup.
Eddie seemed to have Wright prone for a Frogsplash, but Chavo once
again interfered. Chavo addressed his Uncle via the microphone with
psychotic babble. The distraction allowed Wright to hit a hangman's
neckbreaker for the pin. Post-match, Chavo continued his delusional
rant. A frustrated Eddy ran back to the dressing rooms.
My Comment:Chavo kicked you ass Eddy!! Go back to Mexico!
My Rating :3 of 4

Konnan d. Riggs with Lodi
The Wolfpack's baddest hombre, K-Dawg relied on his knowledge of
submission wrestling until Riggs unloaded with a more aggressive
attack. The Flock member struck with a mix of Luchador aerials and
good ol' fashion street-fighting. (Lodi's distractions didn't hurt
either.) But the Mexican superstar managed to avoid a missile
dropkick and apply the Tequila Sunrise for the vicotry.
My Comment:Flock is 4 life.
My Rating :2 of 4

Steve McMichael d. Stevie Ray
Both of these men have only recently returned to in-ring action,
but their respective hiatuses didn't seem to slow them down. A bout
between two classic bruisers, fans saw few technical holds but
plenty of old-school fisticuffs. Mongo enjoyed an early advantage,
but Stevie Ray showed his experience edge by throwing Mongo into
the ring steps. The Harlem Heater tried to follow up the move by
whacking McMichael with a chair, but Chris Benoit -- who had been
attacked backstage by Stevie Ray -- came out to save the former
Horseman. Booker T then ran out and broke up a potential fight
between the Crippler and his brother. Stevie Ray left in disgust
and was counted out.
My Comment:This was a fair and great match!! Good job Steve!
My Rating :4 of 4

Bret Hart d. Chris Benoit
A match for the ages, the first encounter between fellow Canadians
Hart and Benoit lived up to expectations, and then some. Both men
took turns controlling the pace, but it was Benoit who rose to the
challenge near the end. Putting out the Hitman with a superplex,
The Wolverine applied the Crippler Crossface. Hart escaped the
first attempt and, before Benoit could try again, Stevie Ray ran
down to the ring. The distraction allowed Hart to use an
international object to level The Crippler. Hart put Benoit in the
Sharpshooter. Referee Billy Silverman deemed Benoit unable to continue.
My Comment:The best there is, the best there was, and the best there
ever will be. Bret Hart is to sweeeeeet!
My Rating :4 of 4

Kevin Greene d. The Giant
Pre-match, Curt Hennig, Rick Rude and the Giant attacked Greene during
an interview with Gene Okerlund. After another backstage debacle,
JJ Dillon agred to let the Giant and Greene fight. The Carolina
Panther berated the Giant with a series of tackles, but fell prey to a
vicious clothesline. The 7'4" Superstar manhandled his opponent until
Greene struck with a low blow. As Greene regained control, Hennig,
Rude, Brian Adams and Vincent swarmed the ring, causing the DQ. The
black-and-white pummeled Greene until Goldberg arrived from the
dressing room and cleared out the NWO. (During the U.S. Champ's
football days, Goldberg and Greene were roommates.)
My Comment:What the hell? Kevin Greene beat the Giant! This SUCKS!
My Rating :2 of 4

Raw this week was a pretty good. Here are the results:
I'll post my rating's for each match and comments for the
match following each match.

RAW IS WAR RESULTS FROM AUSTIN, TEXAS!

In the first of four King of the Ring tournament matches, the
World's Most Dangerous Man Ken Shamrock beat the World's Strongest
Man Mark Henry following a belly-to-belly. Vader was influential
in the bout, as he attacked Henry on the outside prior to his loss!
My Comment:This match was good. These men were friends now they're
                Enemy's
My Rating :2 of 4

D-Generation X member X-Pac defeated Dustin Runnels following
interference by Chyna. After tripping up the former
Intercontinental Champion, X-Pac nailed Dustin with a spinning
heel kick for the win. Afterwards, Runnels offered his hand in
respect to X-Pac, who answered with two words--S*CK IT!
My Comment:Dustin runnels sucks anyway!
My Rating :2 of 4

In another King of the Ring tournament match, Double J beat
"Marvelous" Marc Mero with a DDT. At one point in the contest,
Mero had his opponent down following a low blow and the TKO.
However, Sable once again distracted Marvelous, allowing Jeff
Jarrett to get the victory. The country superstar now advances
to the semi-finals at the King of the Ring Pay-Per-View to face
Ken Shamrock!
My Comment:Double J beat the Marvelous one!! What the fuck?
My Rating :1 of 4

One-half of the World Wrestling Federation Tag Team Champions,
Road Dog, fell to Kane, who beat the DX member with a Tombstone
Piledriver. Paul Bearer, still at home via satellite, promised
he would be ringside for Kane at the King of the Ring. However,
later on in the show, the rotund mortician was brutally attacked
by the Undertaker! The Man from the Darkside not only destroyed
Bearer's home, but his former manager as well! Following the
melee, Kane was wild in the locker room, and had to be calmed by
Mankind.
My Comment:Road Dog didn't stand a chance!
My Rating :2 of 4

Dan "The Beast" Severn beat Nation co-leader Owen Hart by
submission after X-Pac slammed his nemesis with a steel chair.
"The Beast" now advances to the semi-finals of the King of the
Ring this Sunday at the Pay-Per-View! Following the match, The
Rock and the rest of the Nation issued a challenge to DX, which
was promptly avoided when nearly a dozen Federation officials
stepped in!
My Comment:I think the final match of the King of the Ring will
                be Severn vs. Shamrock!
My Rating :3 of 4

In the final King of the Ring tournament match, Intercontinental
Champion The Rock beat Triple H with a Fisherman's Suplex. The Rock
now advances to the Pay-Per-View this Sunday to battle Dan Severn.
During the bout, Chyna nailed The Rock with a DDT--but the champion
kicked out of Hunter's pinning attempt. The Nation co-leader would
later block his opponent's Pedigree with a low blow before getting
the win.
My Comment:Once again like last week ROCKY RULES
My Rating :4 of 4
