GOLDTONES By Ellen Fair (copyright 1997) In the goldtones of my dreams With edges undefined I reach for all the yesterdays I lost somewhere in time Surprised, I see reflections As dreamers often do Are these really memories? They all seem so new And so 'tis in quiescence Of a silent thought, it seems I look once more and say goodbye To my golden autumn dreams HEALING STREAM By Ellen Fair (copyright 1997) Sometimes my soul is thirsty For the kindness of a hand Tis then I wander off alone Into the healing land To kneel beside the healing stream Releasing all my fears And watch the cleansing ripples That are made by falling tears The stream so gently rinses All the darkness from my mind Replaces it with sunshine Leaving pain and tears behind I wander back into my world To blessings yet unseen Leaving all my heartaches there Beside the healing stream SLEEP, MY LOVE In memory's haze on quiet days I've walked the Trail of Dove Whispering words to your praise My own, my own true love A flower grown beneath a stone Tho not hidden from my eye Bright as a star, when only one Is shining in the sky Our great love, few could know The calm e'en when I weep My tears are but a lullaby As you softly sleep Ellen Fair UNWRITTEN SONNETS When time shall pass, then at last My sonnets I shall write When I am aged, on gilded page With memories burning bright I shall pen of thoughts within Before my thoughts take flight On quiet days with golden phrase I'll write for love's sweet sake Like fresh dew found upon the ground New songs my words will make Though I grow old with thoughts untold Love will be much awake Love does not die as time goes by But sweetly lingers on I'll sing my song with passions strong I'll tell of loves I've known For none can tell of love so well As she who loved but one. Ellen Fair EMOTIONS He followed me through a lonely room brushing cobwebs from his emotions. Sweet Lady, I see your tears and I breathe your perfume, the essence of peaches. Light the candles. Open the book of sonnets, read of love, sip the divine beverage. When I awakened, my tears were hardly dry. Ellen Fair The winds blow fresh now Destiny connects the tiny dots of my life. Tranquil assurances, an eternal monument of words. My name is Acceptance and I sit at the threshhold of a paradise apparelled in a celestial aura amid empurpled hills. I must dance, I must dance. The mountain called Forever sees and cries with me. Ellen Fair
DANCE WITH ME IN THE RAIN By Ellen Fair Dance with me in the rain. Lift a rose to your face and breathe its sweetness. Touch a butterfly. Watch as birds fly free against a rainbow canvas. Feel the warm sun upon our shoulders. Feel my touch. Listen to my heart. Stand with me in a field of wildflowers blowing about as though dancing to God's orchestra. Sit with me by the pond where fish swim unafraid. Feel the wind blowing through our hair. Run freely with wild horses through green grasses. Smell the honeysuckle. Laugh more. Cry less. Dance with me after the rain.
