W. H. Auden
Auden On Poetry
'Our duty to the city is loyal opposition'
'For poetry makes nothing happen: it survives
In the valley of its making where executives
Would never want to tamper...'
This page is mainly concerned with the writing and
enjoyment of poetry. While its main focus in the matter of writing
is on the poetry written by its readers. Its main focus of interest
in established writers is on the poetry of W.H. Auden; twentieth
century poetry in general, but especially Yeats and Eliot; and
finally Medieval literature.
Poems and short notes and queries from readers are welcomed and will be published on this page. Please send poems and notes.
