Good-Bye Diana

There's a vacant place in this world today
Someone we love, has gone away
She was more beautiful than tongue can tell
The Queen of our hearts, this Princess of Wales

Diana, did you see the ocean of flowers as they lay on the ground
Could you see all the sad faces as the people gathered 'round
Were you watching from your window up above
And, could you see the great outpouring of love
Were you surprised that the whole world loved you so
Did you ever dream we'd all be this heart-broken when you had to go
Could you believe the rivers of tears everyone cried
When the announcement was made that you had died
I know that you were proud if you could see
Your sons as they walked that last mile with quiet dignity
And the queen bowed her head as you passed by
This brought more tears to already swollen eyes
We were all so moved as Elton John, your dear friend
Sang your beautiful song,"Candle In The Wind"
And didn't you love the sound of the bells
As they rang for you, beautiful Princess of Wales
Your favorite songs were sung by the choir
Then, the scripture was read by Tony Blair
This brought words of comfort to all your loved ones there
I'm sure you were touched as your family
Read beautiful tributes to your memory
Could you hear the sobs as you took your last journey today
And, did you smile as the crowds threw their bouquets
Hundreds of thousands of us watched untill the very end
As the world said good-bye to you, our beautiful friend
Although most of us you had never even met
The love you've shown, we'll never forget
You were so kind to the down-trodden, the sick, and even the poor
Your touch gave them the courage to endure
And, you did so much for charity
Even though your heart was broken, you never let anyone see
You're life shouldn't have ended this way
Suddenly, there's a vacant place that can never be filled in this world today
Yes the world is richer for having known you, and your legacy will never cease
Good-bye beautiful Princess, and may you forever rest in peace
