Barry Zito, AKA-Blue-Berry Zito.
Where did that come from? When pitching in AZ (meaning he would also
get to bat), Barry's bats arrived sporting the name "Berry" not, "Barry."
Jason Isringhausen (the prankster that he is) promptly placed a big
"BLUE" in marker in front of the "Berry" and from here on out, he will be
forever known to A's fans as "Blue-Berry Zito."
Listen to Barry's weekly MLB Radio show . (during the season, stay tuned
for 2003 schedule, go here for
MLB
Radio). You can also listen to the archives by going to the
radio page. When coming up with a name for his show, Surfin'
With Barry Zito, he says, "I do have some creativity. I'm not just a meat-head
jock" (show airs during the regular season only). You can also catch him
on the AllNight with Todd Wright Show.
