Welcome to my "home"!

Thank you for stopping by. My name's Adele. I am a fibers artist and a high school art teacher in Tennessee.

I taught high school art for three years as a young woman in Ohio. I paused my career to home-school all 3 of my children from pre-school through high school. They are now all in either college or grad school. I hold a teaching certificate for Visual Art grades K-12 in both Tennessee and Ohio. While I was homeschooling, I taught art classes at a local art center to both home schooled and public school kids, as well as adults. Once my youngest started college, I went back to teaching high school art.

I have many interests, mostly art related, naturally. Recently I've worked with beads. I especially like to work with tiny seed beads to create jewelry and decorative items for the home using hand woven techniques. I now have a bead design program which I've enjoyed experimenting with. I sell my completed works at craft fairs and in shops and galleries. Next might be online sales. Other renewed interests are knitting, felting, knitted felt, weaving and surface design. All of these allow me to work with the many beautiful colors that God has created. I try to give glory to God through all I do, including my artistic endeavors.

The earrings above are some that I created as I was experimenting with ruffled peyote. I really like the texture that resulted from this technique. I have made many bracelets from very simple to more complex. Go to Free patterns to see some simple patterns you might try yourself. If you succeed, send me a picture! Visit the other pages to see more of my work, including some of the more advanced pieces. Have fun!
