Forget the Xfiles! Hear This!

You know who they are--those odd looking people you saw around town--not like everyone else. Something different. Strange shaped ears, never took off their shoes, wouldn't shower with the others after gym. They were with us all the time and we never thought about it. Now the truth can be told...or can it?

Before Roswell and Area 5l there was Jal and Eunice and Hobbs. Few knew about it and even fewer ever dreamed actual space creatures might come to our town and why?

It was l947, the height of our boom, and celestial shennigans were going on. The huge saucer or cigar-shaped object was not on a mission over Roswell. It was actually a space bus that dropped "them" off along the way. First Jal at 2 a.m. Unload a family of 4 creatures, then Eunice, then Hobbs and finally take off for Roswell. Eunice got 3. A male, female and male child. They immediately assimilated into the populace. Nobody noticed. Funny though, with red eyes you'd think everyone would say something. Albinos? Naw! Don't stare. When the craft flew over Roswell some thought it only a meteor. Very common over New Mexico skies.

But then the big CRASH! Was it a weather balloon? We knew didn't we! Now it's 50 years later and Roswell has made hay with it's "incident." Fruitcake commentators and UFOlogists have put little Roswell on the map and the butt of many jokes. Did we need that? I think not. Our policy was right. We put our aliens right to work in the community. But we know who they are don't we!

Bobby Wood: Who?

Bev Harvey Sandlin: Hmmm! 1947. Okay those of you who were around then, who remembers a family of 3 with a boy who moved to Eunice in 1947? Red eyes. Funny ears. Anyone have any idea?

Annie Bertrand: My brother had red eyes but there were four of us girls so thank goodness it couldn't have been us.......Well, we did have funny ears but no, I don't think so, but then??????

Lynda Ragan Kvasnikoff: I know someone with a bunch of red shirts... hehehehe

Bev Harvey Sandlin: Thanks for the most appropriate music Lynda! I think Glenn said red eyes not red shirts. LOL However, if he had said red shirts, I would have known for sure who it was. Have you ever taken a close look at Fred's ears?

Lynda Ragan: I figured Fred wore red shirts so we would not notice the eyes. Hehehe

Ann Bertrand: Now girls, Poor old Fred isn't on here tonight to defend himself! LOL But it might be a good idea to check out his eyes sometime.....
