WHAT IS AIDS AND WHAT DOES IT DO???
AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrone) is a disease caused
by the virus HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus). When the HIV virus gets
into the body, it connects itself to a cell. In turn, the cell will make
more viruses. The viruses slowly weaken the immune system. It is not the
AIDS that kills you, but the cancers and other diseases because the
immune system has been weakened and cannot fight them off.
HOW YOU CAN AND CAN'T GET IT.
AIDS can be spread several different ways like having unprotected
sex. You can get it from drug needles that have been shared. You could
also get it from your mother when you are born if she is infected with the
disease. There are tons of ways, though, that you can't get AIDS. Many
people don't understand this. Here are some ways that you can't get AIDS:
1.Sharing food
2.Shaking hands
3.Hugging
4.Kissing
5.Mosquito bites
6.Giving blood
