I'm 15 years old, my birthday is in July. Although I
have a lot of relatives, two of my favorite are kinda
like teachers except they are native, my best adult
friend is Uncle Kevin Gasco, and my native teacher
is Uncle Randy Redhawk. They are part of my "extended"
family and are always around to help me.
A native kid without a teacher is just about lost, so
I am lucky to have them both, although neither one like to be
called teacher. Without them I wouldn't be where I'am to day.
Most of the Pow Wows I go to are in Michigan. The two I
best are the IIA Pow Wow In Battle Creek Michigan 3rd Weekend
of May,and 4th Weekend in August and the NAIC Pow Wow
in Ann Arbor Michigan. I have links to this stuff below.
I do get to go to a few Pow Wows outside of Michigan
but none really stick out in my mind. Ohio, Indiana mainly.

When I was MUCH younger than I am now, I never thought I would
be able to do the stuff I do now. I have always wanted to know
my culture, go to pow wows and dance. I just didn't know
where to start. When I met my Uncle Randy a community leader, and
contest dancer as well as traditional dancer, I soon began to learn
the red road.
