NASHVILLE BOUND
In May 1998 Ray and his management team went to Nashville, Tennessee to meet with industry greats. Ray spent the day touring and talking with professionals at MCA/Decca, RCA and Mercury Records. His talent and showmanship has attracted the attention of the folks at Warner-Reprise and Sony Records. Ray will return to Music City in September, "I hope to be negotiating and signing a contract in the very near future."

On April 17, 1998 Ray joined the friends of country music legend Dolly Parton in celebrating the opening of the 13th season of Dollywood. Thrilled to be a part of the excitement he said, "I love Dolly, she has been my inspiration and it is an honor to be apart of this celebration." Ray visited Dollywood on Saturday April 18, 1998. He spent the day touring the shops and seeing all the great shows that are apart of the wonderful world of Dollywood. Ray plans a return trip, for Dolly's concerts in September 1998, when he plans to take time to sign autographs. Further, he is scheduled to be apart of Dollywood's Christmas celebration.
It's that time of year again, time for the Alexandria, Kentucky fair. In August 1997 Ray wowed his hometown with a spectacular float and concert. The people of Alexandria were mesmerized by the glitz and glamour, as well as the phenomenal show that only Ray Tharp can provide. This year Ray plans an entry in the parade as grand-marshal that promises to be the glamour, class and style that is uniquely Ray Tharp.

THE MIDAS TOUCH
Ray Tharp's second project is well on the way. He has been hard at work writing and co-writing songs for his new album. "I plan to have more upbeat tunes and maybe a few surprises." Ray plans to title his new CD, "Threads of Gold" and we are certain it will more than live up to its name. Coming soon!!!
