Bands That Rock My World

Bury Me- Recorded live at The Red Lion Pub; Augusta, Ga, 6-17-98 Guster- Okay, you've probably heard of them by now because they have lots of radio airplay. If you haven't heard them, The Goldflycall up your local radio staion and request "The Airport Song". Heck, do that anyway. So, these guys put the "ass" in Massachusetts with their mad percussion and cool harmonies. To get a load of these freaks who push the envelope of pop, check out The Official Guster Web Site well, as official as these guys can be.
"Four out of six girls say Guster is better than communism."
Finally, I'm a Guster rep, so if you want to get "Goldfly" or "Parachute" for only $12 instead of however much they're trying to get you to pay in your local record store just mail me.

You Came a' Knockin'- Recorded live at The Elbow Room; Columbia, SC, 08-09-97 Danielle Howle and the Tantrums- this band, which is composed of members of two of the finest bands ever to grace the Columbia music scene,Tantrums Skunk Blightobody and Lay Quiet Awhile. They play homespun rock with a little country twang around the edges. Check out their official homepage.

Banish Misfortune- Recorded live at the St. Patrick's Day Festival in 5-Points; Columbia, SC, 03-14-98 Jump, Little Children- My hands-down favorite band. These guys, besides being really cool people, play fantastic music that defies categorization. For better or worse, they're on their way to stardom, so check them out soon. The best place to hear their music is probably "Dressed Up Like A Rock N Roll Star" or you can learn about them at their official web site.

Betty- From the album "The Verna Cannon" The Verna Cannon- Another great Columbia band, The Verna Cannon is slightly mellower fare. With beautiful vocals and thoughtful lyrics brought to you by Molly Ledford, these guys are a must-see if you can find them. Try their official web site.

. Gran Torino- Woohahahaha! These bad boys of funk will kick you in the pants and take your girl! Funk with old-school R&B flavor and a fully stocked horn section... You can't beat these boys with a rhinestone-studded stick. Check 'em out at their official web site and keep your ears peeled here for live sound clips.

. Support OLGA: The Blue Treble Clef Campaign There's this really great place called Olga where guitarists can go to get tablature for music of all kinds, but this company wants to shut them down because Olga provides this service for free while these guys charge for it. Okay, we all know I'm for capitalism and making a buck, but OLGA and guitarists are really getting screwed in the bargain. Read about it and the Blue Treble Clef Campaign
