I love to crochet and design patterns. I was taught to crochet by my babysitter when I was 9 years old. The first thing I ever made was a granny square afghan for my mother in her favorite color of blue and varigated yarn. I still remember how proud I felt when I gave my mother a really great gift I had made myself. Is there a youngster in your life? Teach them how to crochet. It's a skill and hobby that will last a lifetime and bring them years of happiness. By the way my babysitter whose nickname is Cricket is still alive today and at 89 years young she crochets hats for preemies at the local hospital and stuffed toys to give to hospitalized children at Christmas.
