If you're looking for Anime City, the site has moved here.

Konnichiwa, minna-san. Welcome to my homepage. Here, you can learn what Anime & Manga is all about. Now, if this is your idea of anime:

Then, you're totally wrong. Sure, Sailor Moon is one of the most popular anime & manga you can ever get, but there are alot to anime than that.

Lesson 1 - Anime vs. Cartoons

anime [ah'nee'meh] - Japanese animation.
If your idea of anime is "Sailor Moon", "Dragonball/DBZ", and "Pokemon", which are viewed as cartoons, then...
In the name of the moon, you shall be punished!
Okay...what I'm saying is, ANIME IS MORE THAN JUST CARTOONS!!!

Now that we got that straight.

Anime is taken very seriously in Japan. In fact, it has a wide group of audiances for different ages. Some anime are rated for little kids, like Pokemon(*BlueStarry eyes those who are 6th grade and up*). Other anime, if you're looking something that actually has a plot, the ratings are much higher.

Take Fushigi Yuugi for an example. Fushigi Yuugi is one of my favorite shoujo mangas. Shoujo manga are Girl Comics; shoujo meaning young girl, and manga meaning comics. Fushigi Yuugi is rated for mature viewers(the rating given is PG13). It shows slight nudity(nothing too graphic here, for those *really* naive people...) and some more mature situations, such as rape scenes(like I said, nothing too graphic!).

If you're surprised, then you'll be even more when I tell you, there's lots more to anime than that. Some anime are even rated X. These are strictly for adults(mature viewers over 18), and contains what the Japanese call 'hentai'.
[ Mini Lesson: hentai (heh'en'tah'ee), meaning perverted. ]
'Hentai' basically means perverted. Some people are against hentai, others support it. Some remain neutrual and don't care. However, even hentai anime should be appreciated. Without hentai anime, anime would be 'just cartoons'.

Anime is always better and more live than cartoons, and always will be. ANIME FOREVER!!!

Lesson 2 - Anime & Manga

Now that that's settled, let's move on. Anime usually come from manga. Manga is a graphic novel, or just comics. They were all drawn by talented artists who came up with a great story and decided to put it into pictures instead of all words(okay, like this. This is very boring to read, isn't it? Okay...I'll add some graphics. ^^;;). Both anime and manga RULES! I admire both manga and anime artists. Manga artists mostly start from amateurs and as they practice, their artwork gets much better. Animators(uhh, the people who draw the anime was what I meant) have had a lot of experience from drawing alot. Unlike manga artists, anime is drawn by more than one person(ALOT more than one...). Manga artists have to draw their whole story out, and make the plot of the story, which is way harder. ^.~

Note for some Sailor Moon fans who stumbled upon a page with false information: Sailormoon manga is also the original manga, created(drawn & designed) by Ms. Naoko Takeuchi. IT IS NOT SAILORMOON IN FRENCH! I just happened to spot that info. somewhere on the net before, but I've ignored it after knowing it was false information. But one day one of my friends told me Sailormoon manga is Sailormoon in French, which I really *REALLY* was shocked that ALOT of others were getting the same false information!!!

Okay, now that you've learned more about anime, why not check out the links on right side? Or, if you know more information about anime, please feel free to email me about it! Arigatou gozaimasu! - OR! - if you know any of this is untrue(which I doubt), please notify me by emailing me. OR--If you knew all of this, I'm so sorry, but I dunno what kind of people come to my page. Gomen nasai!

BTW, yeah, I KNOW right now that they don't bloody work. Chik*sho, stop emailing about that or else your email will go straight into the trash can. On the other hand, however, you may email me about any questions you have on drawing anime/manga, and I'd be more than happy to give you a few pointers here or there. But one thing: Be POLITE. If you're rude, your email also would make a quick trip to the trash can. Thank you. *bows, and steps off of the soapbox*
