In the Late Hours ( April 24, 1999)

Kevin woke up to hear Alex crying again that night. His room was closest to her quad. He hurried to check on her.

Alexia heard the door open. Two piercing green eyes looked at her, and Kevin came over and wrapped his arms around her. He had not an idea as to what was bothering her but he would listen to her anytime. Alex was unlike anyone he had ever met. Music was her life support, she was intelligent, had a rolling on the floor puking up your intestines with laughter kind of humor, and a way of rolling her eyes that could be affectionatly recognized.

A half an hour passed and her tears subsided. Kevin asked her why she had been bawling every night since.... It hit kevin like a lightening bolt. He knew but let her explain.

" well...I. Oh god this is not something easy for me to say but ya know what f*ck it (**younger reader friendly...lol**) I'll be blunt...I have fallen for A.J. "

One sigh escaped Alex's lips, followed by a few trickling tears. " can you see the way he looks at Amanda? She has that perfectious Cheerleader existence ( ** I used to cheerlead for quite a few years...used to being the operative word....so no offense to cheerleaders either...Im just so politically correct arent I?**), flawless figure and well shes a lot older than I am." Alexia laughed awkwardy.

Kevin frowned. This was horrible! Kevin didn't really understand what A.J. felt about Amanda, though he knew A.J. was quite attracted to the Innosense band member, something necessary in a relationship.

" I really don't know what to say Alexia, you're fourteen....and A.J. is well 21. We both know that and with that in mind it is deemed hopeless for some. But I do know that you are incomparable to Amanda latona, you have this charisma from day one....and your highly mature. So I can't judge things. If this was anyone else, I'd be honest and tell you to give up, but anything for you Alex and I am behind you . As for Amanda, I am not going to Judge her...its not right." Kevin said sincerely.

Alexia nodded. " I will wait for as long as I can stand....which might not be long so I'll apply some coping skills and stay friends with A.J.....thats the best I can do." she resolved. Kevin smiled and kissed her forehead.

"I'm tired....but don't leave til I fall asleep please?" Alexia said looking up at him.

He nodded and rocked her in his arms until she was asleep.
