"You’re mad" Kevin said quietly as he stared at down at Callie’s shadowed face.

"I am not mad" she said stiffly as she pushed her amber colored hair out of her face. Rolling out of his embrace Callie threw her shapely legs over the side of the bed and sat up.

"Callie" Kevin began as he went to encircle his arm around her slender waist but standing up his arm encircled nothing but the cool air. Shivering from the cool wind that nipped her legs Callie searched for his discarded pair of jeans.

"Look this is just a set back" he said quietly as he got out of the bed.

"A set back is that all it is?" she asked emotionless as she founded it under Kevin’s sweater.

"Look Orlando isn’t that far away" he said softly as he shut the balcony door that was letting the cool breeze into the small bedroom.

"Face it Kevin you mine as well be moving across the Atlantic" Callie said glancing up at him as she pulled on her jeans.

"This doesn’t have to end" he said as he approached her but she quickly walked to the other side of the room and pulled on her fleece.

"Kevin we have never lived in the same world OK? You moving…." She said letting her voice trail off.

"Come with me" he said as he finally caught her by the shoulders and stared into her green eyes.

"No my life is here" she said shaking her head sadly. She would miss him desperately so but she would never let him see what this was doing to her. Watching his eyes tear Callie looked down

"God Cal I don’t want to lose you" he said gruffly as he pulled her tightly against him.

Sighing Callie resisted the urge to pull away and let him hold her. Burying his face into her slender neck she felt the moisture slip down her neck and onto her collarbone.

"Hey there is nothing to cry about" she said as she pulled away from him and fished her keys out of her pocket.

"Callie don’t start this" he began but she shrugged

"I haven’t started anything Kev" she said as she began walking away.

"Wait Callie. At least take me to the airport this weekend" he said quietly.

Turning back to face him she took in his defined features and blue eyes "I can’t the sorority is taking the annual trip with the Frat boys. We are leaving tomorrow afternoon" she said as she cast her eyes down.

"Shit" he mumbled.

"Goodbye Kevin" she said softly as she opened the door.

"Wait Callie" he began but she ignored his rich voice as she stepped out and shut the door on him, and that part of her life.

6 years later

"It’s good to be home" Brian said with a jubilant laugh as he jumped on top of his bunk and began dancing around.

"Brian" Nick said with a laugh as he tackled Brian.

"HEY" he protested as he fell down arms wailing and all.

"Kev? Earth to Kev?" AJ said waving his hand in front of Kevin’s blank stare as they pulled into the dome.

"Huh?" he said as he seemed to snap back to reality.

"What is wrong with you???" Howie asked as he sat down next to him.

"Nothing is wrong" he said with a shrug as he stood up and made his way out of the bunk area.

"What is eating him??" AJ asked directing his question at Brian.

"I thought he would be glad to get home and see his roots" Howie said as he looked at Brian.

Sighing Brian hit Nick in the stomach lightly as he sat up "I don’t know…" he said with a shrug.

"Maybe the concert will make him feel better" Nick said enthusiastically.

"Doubt it…"Brian said as his face flooded over with realization.

"Well??" AJ questioned.

"Well what?" Brian asked.

"I know you know what it is. So?" he prompted him. But before Brian could begin to explain Kevin walked back into the bunk area

"Come on we’re here" he said shortly.

"I refuse to take her. I’m sorry" Callie said as she looked up from her text book.

"Callie please. I will owe you forever!" Alice exclaimed as she looked at her the pleading and desperation evident in her eyes.

"No Alice you KNOW why I can’t go" Callie said shrugging as she shut her text book and tossed it onto her bed.

"Cal there will be SO many people there. He will never notice. And it is only 3 hours out of your life" Alice begged. Rolling her eyes Callie shook her head

"Absolutely not" she said as she fished around her room for a pair of clean pants.

"But you weren’t even planning on doing anything tonight in the first place. Cal, Kevin probably doesn’t even remember" she complained. Casting her emerald eyes down Callie felt an old heartache threaten to resurface.

"Oh Cal I didn’t mean it that way" Alice said immediately trying to amend her speech. Shrugging Callie took in a deep breath

"No you are probably right….yea….Of course I will take her. Go ahead and go on your date with Trent K?" Callie said smiling at her.

"Cal look I didn’t meant that. Kevin was madly in love with you" she began but sighing she smiled sympathetically at her "OK this is me inserting foot into my mouth" she said as she smiled one more time at her and walked out of the bedroom.

"Thanks for taking my Callie! I’d rather go with you anytime!" Aryan exclaimed as she hugged Callie enthusiastically. Laughing Callie hugged her tightly

"Think we will get to meet them??" she asked her brown eyes just as large and glowly as Alice’s.

"I don’t know Aryan but let’s get a move on ok?" she said as she looked up at Mrs. Carl, Aryan’s and Alice’s mother.

"I will have her home the minute the concert is over" she said with a smile.

"Thank you Callie. I thought Aryan wasn’t going to be able to go" she said with a thankful look.

"My pleasure really" she said with a reassuring nod. "Let’s go kiddo" she said as she took Aryan’s hand.

"Kevin? What is it…Hello" Brian hissed at Kevin who had stopped in mid lyric. The concert was almost over as they were on their last song.

"AJ take over his verse" Brian said as he bounded up to AJ trying to act as if nothing was wrong.

"What I don’t know his part" AJ protested. "The one song the guy has his own part" AJ muttered as he let his voice go. Making up the lyrics as he went Brian cringed as he ran back to Kevin

"Get off the stage or do something" he demanded as Nick and Howie glanced over at them.

Kevin felt his heart take a dive the minute he saw her Amber hair glowing in the dome’s bad lighting. ‘No it’s not’ he immediately thought but as he saw her staring down at the little girl and let a laugh erupt from her full lips he knew. Somewhere in the back of his mind he was acutely aware that the noise and concert was still surrounding him. And he heard Brian urging him to do something. Turning his blue eyes towards him he looked at him blankly.

"OK let’s go" Callie said as she was glad the concert was finally over.

He hadn’t changed much in her eyes but the emptiness she had tried so hard to forget hit her full force and she was desperate to get out of the crowded dome.

"Cal we should probably wait because there will probably be herds of people trying to get out" Aryan said looking up at her. Sighing Callie nodded.

She was right. The last thing she wanted to do was deal with rabid fans. Sinking down onto the uncomfortable seats Aryan placed herself on her lap and kissed her forehead

"You know Callie I know it must have been hard for you to take me here. Thank you though" Aryan said with a soft smile.

"What?" Callie said as she looked in surprise at the small girl.

"Alice told me to be nice to you tonight because you use to love Kevin" she said simply.

Surprise coloring Callie’s soft features she looked into Aryan’s deep brown eyes "And Alice told you this" she questioned.

"yep" she said nodding slowly.

"I see…" Callie said as she picked up the young girl and set her on the ground

"Well thank you for being considerate of my feelings" she said kissing Aryan on the cheek.

"I was heartbroken once too ya know" Aryan said with a knowing nod.

"is that so???" Callie said with a soft laugh.

"yea Jeremy Jones liked Missy Wilson and not me. And that broke my heart" she said solemnly.

"Is that so?" Callie said with a knowing nod trying to keep a straight face.

"Uh huh. I thought I would never love again. But! Then I saw Nick and that was it!" she said with a bright smile.

Laughing Callie took her small hand and started walking towards the exit.

"Well Nick Carter is nothing short of a cutie." Callie said with a laugh.

"Oh Cal don’t say that!!! He is too young for you" Aryan said with a groan.

Laughing Callie nodded "Oh I know he is." She said with a laugh.

"What the hell was that all about" AJ fumed at Kevin.

"I’m-I’m sorry" he said as he just shook his head and threw his towel over his shoulder.

"shit man" AJ muttered as he stormed away.

"Great news" Lou exclaimed as he walked into their dressing room.

"We need some right now" Howie muttered.

"What’s going on??" Lou asked.

"We got invited to the governers ball tomorrow night"
