"We have to get past this" Cordelia said quietly as she slipped into bed next to Brian as he was facing away from her. Feeling a wall being built between them Cordelia tried fighting the tears that threatend to consume her.

"How can you just tell me something like you have told me--expect me to just get past it." he demanded as he rolled over and looked at her.

Running her fingers through her hair Cordelia casted her eyes to the covers as she took in a deep breath

"brian you have to trust me-I can't live like this" she said quietly.

"YOU cant live like this. HOW THE HELL DO YOU THINK I AM FEELING. You are in love with someone who isn't me!" he exclaimed as she realized he was in as much anguish as she was.

"Brian I don't love him. If I did I would be with him" the lie came out of her mouth before she could stop herself.

Staring at her intently Brian couldn't see the quick shift in her eyes in the dark. Watching his face fall as if it had be controted in pain for the last 48 hours

"Really?" he whispered softly as she realized how insecure and hurt he really was. Swallowing the lump in her throat she forced a tender smile into her face

"I want you. Thats why i am here" she said as she ran her hand along his face.

"Oh Cordy I really didnt want to live without you. I wasn't sure if I could. I am so sorry" he whimpered as he buried his head in her lap as she felt his tears of relief on her bare legs

"I love you so Cordy" he whispered as he kissed her hand. Holding her chin up Cordelia tried to keep the quiver out of her voice as her own tears rolled down her cheek, but for a different reason

"I love you Brian. Really...I do."

"It's to early for you" Cordelia muttered as she walked into the kitchen as she rubbed her eyes sleepily. Nick sat on the living room floor with Brian as she realized they were arguing whether or not Nick had cheated on their last round at some video game. Glancing up from Brian Nick smiled briefly

"hey there" he said then looked back at Brian

"I DID NOT" he exclaimed. Brian stood up

"Yea you did and I am not going to play with you anymore" he said as he then raced over to Cordelia as she had her mask in place once again

"Morning sunshine" she said as she placed a kiss on his cheek. Smiling up at her he grabbed her hand

"I have a surprise for you" he said excitedly as he looked like a 8 year old boy who just got a new play toy.

"Bri I really don't like surprises..." she began.

"No you really will like this one" he said as he stared at her "meet me at the Polynesian Resort 8:00." he said a twinkle in his eyes.

"Um Ok..But Brian" she began but he silenced her with a quick kiss

"I have to go. Come on Nick" Brian called grabbing his wallet and heading out the door. Feeling her mask falter for a moment the pain she felt shone through for a quick moment but Brian didn't notice.

As Cordelia turned to say goodbye to Nick she realized by the look on his face. He did notice. Hanging her head in shame she said nothing as he just sighed and followed Brian out the door.
