Chapter   8

"Cordy?" Kevin said rubbing his eyes sleepily as he opened the door a little wider.

"I am sorry Kev" Cordelia said quietly as she hung her head down.

A little more alert Kevin raised her rounded chin so he could look at her face in the dim light "Were you crying?" he asked as he took her by the shoulders and led her inside.

"Yea...I'm sorry...It's just...I thought I still had my keys to my apartment but I must have lost them and Brian kicked me out" Cordelia said trying not to wail as she sniffed.

Turning her so she faced him Kevin stared deep into her dark eyes "Cordelia what is going on?" Kevin asked softly.

Kevin sighed as he sat on his bed Cordelia curled up against his body her head on his lap. She didn't tell him anything just cried and cried for hours. Running his fingers over her thick hair he closed his eyes he felt as if he had no right to comfort her since the pain apparently went deep.

"Who's it going ot be CORDY?" Brian demanded as he stared at her hard.

Feeling her breath get caught in her throat Cordelia could do nothing but stare at him blankly.

"YEA CORD. WHo?" JC demanded.

Feeling tears well up in her eyes Cordelia tried to stop them from flowing but they did anyways. "I don't know..Don't make me choose" she said her voice barely audible.

"I hate you Cordy" Brian snapped.

"I don't want you either" JC said plainly.

Opening her eyes quickly Cordy found herself staring at someones chest that she didn't recognize.

Stirring she heard the familiar deep voice "Cord why is my chest wet?"

Sniffing Cordelia blushed as she sat up embarssed "i am sorry Kevin! I was crying in my sleep I guess" she said sheepishly as she rubbed his chest trying to dry it.

Sitting up he laughed softly "It's ok" he said as he hugged her.

Feeling slightly awkward sharing his bed and being beneath the covers with him with his arms around her Cordelia held her breath. As he finally released her she smiled slightly at him but the remenants of the dream still lingered in her mind.

"What were you crying about?" he asked gently.
