The Rolling Stones Tour of the America's '75 is a must-have collector's items for all Rolling Stones fans. Through this very unique collection of photos, tour memorabilia and personal journal entries of Christopher Simon Sykes you will feel as if YOU were a part of the TOTA '75 crew.
This book was made with the Stones' blessing and it allows you to experience being backstage, pre-show tuning with Keith and Ronnie; travelling onboard the Starship; the idea of elephants as 'extra security'; crew parties; the stage set-up; visiting Niagara Falls with Mick; Stu's birthday cake fight; Mick borrowing Lisa Robinson's knickers for a show; Ronnie and Keith being charged with reckless driving and possession of a knife, and much much more.
TOTA DELUXE 'STARSHIP' COPIES SOLD OUT
The leather-bound 'Starship' copies of TOTA '75, numbered 1 to 350, have now sold out. These had multi-coloured page edges and were bound in full black leather with a richly embroidered badge of the 1975 eagle logo inset on the front. Genesis still has regular 'Commander' copies of the book available, priced at 295 UK pounds (+P&P). These too come with replica backstage passes and hotel room keys from the '75 tour, as well as being housed in the beautiful solander box.
When the Stones hit Europe on their Bigger Bang World Tour in a few weeks time, Genesis expects sales in TOTA '75 to sky-rocket so order now to avoid disappointment.
'COMMANDER' BOXED SETS WITH BOOK BOUND IN QUARTER LEATHER AND BUCKRAM, NUMBERED 351 TO 2,500
Tour manager, Peter Rudge, was nicknamed 'The Commander' for the duration of the tour. His regular newsletters to the band and crew run as a fascinating thread throughout the book. In deference to him we've termed boxed sets numbered 351 to 2,500 'Commander' copies. Along with Christopher Simon Sykes, Peter has signed all 2,500 copies in the limited edition on replica crew passes.
In the Commander boxed sets you'll find a superbly hand crafted book in black leather and silk-screened blue and red buckram (blue on the front board, red on the back). In the centuries-old tradition, the page edges are decoratively protected with silver foil.
You'll also find replicas of two actual hotel room keys from the tour and facsimiles of 40 backstage passes providing privileged access to various tour venues will also be found inside every box.
I have been reviewing this fabulous book and I must say I am quite impressed. This book is HUGE, and weighs a ton. As an owner of 3 other Genesis Stones books, and a contributor to the Exile book, I have to say that this may be their most elaborate and exciting Stones book to date. These never before seen photos combined with Mr. Sykes' journal entries & memorabilia give us an impressive insiders look at the '75 tour. I have a lot more to read and look at, I am nowhere near finished reviewing this book!
Stones Planet & The Keith Shrine are happy to be lending a hand in the promotion of TOTA '75, so stay tuned for an exclusive interview with Christopher Simon Sykes himself!
