LAS VEGAS
Every one has heard of Las Vegas, so I'm not going to spend much time here. Lots of new casinos, each of which is a theme park all its own.

(Paris Hotel)

It has become a great place for kids as well as adults. There is no way I can describe all of the new attractions, suffice it to say there is something there for everyone.

Here are a few interesting facts:

LV Convention & Visitors Authority = 4 million square foot building; largest single story convention facility in the world.

Luxor beam at tip of pyramid = 42 Xenon light bulbs equalling the brilliance of 40 BILLION candles. You can read a newspaper by its light from 10 miles in space (determined by a mathematical equation to devise the theory).

see the light on top of the pyramid?

Main Street Station hotel-casino has a 12-foot section of the actual Berlin Wall mounted behind the urinals in the men's room.

Golden Nugget downtown has the world's largest gold nugget on display. Called 'the Hand of Faith' found in Australia in 1980, purchased for $1 million and flown by Lear Jet to LV for display.

Liberace Museum has a mirror-plated Rolls Royce; jewel-encrusted capes, and the largest rhinestone in the world, weighing 59 pounds and almost a foot in diameter. Presented to Liberace in 1985 by D. Swarovski & Co. of Austria, marking Liberace's return to Caesar's after 14 year hiatus.

Follies Bergere production show born in Paris in 1869 is now only at the Tropicana. Paris production closed down in 1994 for financial reasons.

Tallest observation tower this side of the Mississippi: Stratosphere

One of the world's tallest, fastest roller coasters: Buffalo Bill's 'Desperado'. -

World's tallest free-standing indoor climbing structure: GameWorks climbing wall (75').

What a lot of people miss, when they go to Las Vegas, are all of the other wonderful things in the surrounding areas.
