Bahrain
Sheikh Abdul Amir Al Jamri was detained without charge or trial since January 1996. Bahrain's security forces are responsible for some of the worst acts of torture and repression the region.
Sheikh Al Jamri is 60 years old. He is held under Bahraini security legislation, currently being used to quell the movement to restore the Bahraini constitution, which was suspended by the ruler in 1975. He is the leader of the Bahraini Islamic opposition and has been persecuted for his beliefs before his arrest. Many thousands of Bahrainis are held without charge and routinely tortured by the security services which consists of foreign mercenaries and are run by the British officer, Ian Henderson, well-known for his methods of torture in Kenya and now Bahrain.
Please help free Sheikh Al-Jamri.
