Media Action: Jan 03.98 / Times UK

The Times newspaper printed in the UK carried the following picture on 3rd January 1998 to illustrate an article entitled 'Recipes for the Barking Mad.' The article was about dog food. In the picture dog food is placed on a plate in front of a dog. On the plate the word 'Allah' (God) is visible in two distinct places.







We are requesting all Media Action campaigners to contact the editor at The Times, regarding this photograph asking for an apology. The issues surrounding it are many. Who was responsible for setting up and taking this photograph? Was s/he aware of its offensive and sacrilegious nature? Were the picture and other responsible editors at the newspaper aware?
