Torture Instruments

Christmas songs played merrily in the mall. It could be heard from outside as the four boys entered it. “… Jingled bells, Jingle bells, jingle all the way…” it chimed. Kuwabara and Yuusuke were both wearing Santa hats as they thought it was cool. Kurama was secretly laughing at them and Hiei; as usual think it’s stupid.

“Hiei stinks, Hiei smells, farting all the way,” sang Kuwabara, irritating the fire demon, copying the ‘Jingle Bell’ tune. Hiei stopped in his tracks and turned, facing the bigger guy’s chest. He looked up and snarled. “I’ll show whom really smells here when that rubbish bin goes on your head,” he pointed at a disposable bin nearby.

Kurama smiled and took Hiei by the shoulder. “Now, now… don’t fight yet, we still need to go Christmas shopping,” said Kurama brushing imaginary dusts on Hiei's shirt and looked up, frowning at the stores.

Yuusuke and Kuwabara whispered to each other, then Kuwabara laughed sickly. “Uahhahaha!!! You’re brilliant! We can get more money that way!” he exclaimed. Everyone turned and looked at them. “Shut up, baka! You’re telling everyone!” Yuusuke smacked Kuwabara’s head.

Hiei felt like running away. These morons are driving him insane and making fools of themselves! Hiei looked at Kurama’s face, which had the same expressions as he did, only softer.

“Kurama! We’re going to… umm… eat! Meet you later!” with that, both Yuusuke and Kuwabara disappeared.

“Good,” muttered Hiei and added his infamous ‘hn’ for effect. Kurama smiled broader as they were left by their other team-mates. “Come, let’s see what new clothes they have this season,” he pulled Hiei to a store.

Sogo *the name of the mall* was quiet packed. With people running around carrying shopping goods for Christmas and all. Both of them entered the department section where the men and ladies clothes were placed. Accessories of variant types were also there. Tags of different colours hung from the ceiling, promoting Christmas discounts and free gifts.

Hiei grunted. “Do we need to buy these?” as he picked up a small ladies undergarment from the rack. Kurama looked at Hiei and choked back his chuckles. Hiei looked so adorable and naïve with that innocent face holding the pink coloured thingy.

Kurama bit his lips and took the garment, putting it back in its rightful place. He bent down and whispered to Hiei. “Who would want to wear it?” he asked the youkai. Hiei gave him a dumbfounded look. Then his eyes widened. “Ahh… you then,” he grimaced and walked away, leaving Kurama gaping his jaw behind. “I can’t believe you, Hiei,” Kurama shook his head and kept up with the fire demon.

Hiei waited ‘impatiently’ as Kurama picked up a few clothes. Kurama sang softly with the song that was playing in the mall. “…Silent night… holy night…” Hiei sighed and turned around, hands still crossed on his chest.

There it was a rack full of funny looking things that Hiei had never seen in his short life. He got curious and walked over to it.

Kurama smiled at a blue colour shirt and turned around, wanting to ask Hiei about it. But then, he saw no one behind him, except a few giggling girls. Kurama frowned as he saw Hiei meddling with the accessories on a rack on the other side of the place. He put down the shirt and made his way there, standing behind him.

Hiei was eyeing those gadgets with pure interest. These things looked deadly and dangerous. :… But if it was, why is it sold here like candy for sale? …: wondered the fire demon.

“This is for digging your ears,” said Kurama, pointing at a gold coloured ear-digger. “This is for cutting your nails,” he continued, pointing at a nail cutter. “And this is for sawing your nails into shape. This is for curling eye lashes…,” Kurama paused and decided he wanted to tease the little koorime. “… or you could use it to pinch someone’s ass,” he told Hiei.

Hiei rolled his eyes and smirked at the redhead. Which he knew that he was trying to get back on him for just now.

Kurama thought it was fun the way Hiei looked that way and decided to tease him more. “This, is to sodomite your butt, Hiei,” Kurama joked, pointing at a silver coloured scissors. Shining dangerously against the blinding light. Hiei made a disgusted face; he won’t want that thing up his ass! He gave Kurama a ‘are-you-crazy’ look.

“Really, look… this is for plucking your nipples,” said Kurama casually, pointing at a pair of tweezers. Hiei wrinkled his nose and gave Kurama a ‘you’ve-gone-mad’ look. Imagine, having your nipples plucked with that thing that looks like a torture instrument. In fact, all the things on this rack looked like torture instruments to him. Hiei gulped.

The sales assistant who had been standing nearby, heard all the conversation and thought that that redhead really meant what he was saying. She walked up to them, suppressing her urge to laugh. “Excuse me, may I help you?” she asked.

Kurama looked up and saw a girl, dressed in the shopping mall’s uniform baring a nametag, which have the name ‘Siew Lee’ printed on it. Hiei too, looked up at her and before Kurama could say or do anything, he asked the girl. “Oi, you sure that this is for sodomising?” asked Hiei casually, picking up the scissors, shoving it into Siew Lee’s hand.

She was blushing from head to toe. Kurama bit his lips and gritted his teeth embarrassingly. “Hiei, I think we should go now,” said Kurama, pulling him away. Hiei freed himself. “Iya, matte yo,” he mumbled.

Hiei took the tweezers and placed it in her hand too. “What are you doing Hiei?” asked Kurama. “I’m buying it,” he told Kurama dryly. “For what?” asked Kurama, the salesgirl still holding the stuffs. “I’m going to pluck your nipples and stuff that thing up your ass, baka. Go and pay,” he told the redhead and walked off.

Kurama was left, staring at the fire demon’s back. He gulped and blinked, turning around to look at Siew Lee. “You still want these?” she asked, uncertain. Kurama shrugged and sighed heavily. “Yeah,” he told her.

The salesgirl punched a few numbers on the machine and Kurama paid. “I hope he doesn’t mean what he says,” she said, as she gave him the receipt. Kurama smiled wearily. “I won’t bet on it,” he told her and followed his demon lover to the other side.

"Yo, Siew Lee! Did you see that?" asked another salesgirl walking quickly towards the still-in-a-daze girl. "Oi!" shouted the girl again, taking Siew Lee's arm and shook it violently.

“Nan da yo?" asked Siew Lee, snapping out of her thoughts. "That guy with red hair! He is so gorgeous!!" exclaimed the girl with the tag 'Bulma' imprinted on it, chewing dreamily on her lips.

"Yeah... The guy who shoved me the scissors is also very cute..." sighed Siew Lee dreamily, gazing at the couple who were *admiring* hair accessories now.

"Fat chance, girl," laughed Bulma as she pointed at the couple.

"You too, girl! They *are* a couple and they just look so sweet together!" retorted Siew Lee and dumped a gigantic pile of sales receipts onto Bulma's hands.

"Say, what did they buy?" asked Bulma, sorting out the mass of papers.

"Torture instruments..." replied Siew Lee and shook her head slowly.

Bulma gave Siew Lee an odd glare. :… When did we ever sell torture instruments here …: wondered the silly girl but quickly went away as she remembered that their supervisor wanted the receipts fast.

"Hiei?" asked Kurama warily. This time, Hiei was looking at a rack full of hair accessories. Brooches, hair bands, hair clips and *diamond* studded hairpins filled the entire rack. :… Hair clips?! …: Hiei studied a purple hair clip, intended to create a French twist with interest. *What the heck is this? I have never seen it in Makai...* muttered Hiei and repeatedly squeezed the clip open and shut.

"Hn," growled Hiei when the clip slammed on his fingers accidentally. He gritted his teeth painfully. "Wah!!! The clips are very nice!" screeched a high-pitched voice and Hiei turned sideways to see whom ‘it’ was.

A girl dressed in a frilly baby blue dress with her hair cascading over her shoulders intently picked out a yellow teddy bear clip. With left fingers, she twisted her hair up and placed the clip while admiring herself at the mirror provided there.

Hiei narrowed his eyes as he watched how the girl did it. "Hmm…" said Hiei as he attempted to place the clip properly on his head.

"Hiei, put that down!" ordered Kurama quickly as his eyes widened in shock as the youkai began pinning the cute purple hair clip on.

"Why?" asked Hiei, trying in vain to pull the clip out. “Kuso..." cursed Hiei as the clip came out with strands of his hair. :… Ningens are so stupid. Why bother putting on that and tearing out your scalp when you are done? …: thought Hiei irritably. Kurama laughed, seeing Hiei's pained expression. The fire youkai threw the hair clip on the rack and began looking at other things.

"Hn," muttered Hiei as he picked up a shiny headband with little carats of crystals glued onto the slender frame. :… Hn, I have seen people in Ningenkai wearing this in that box that Kurama always switches on... Ah, a television …: thought Hiei amusedly.

"Oi Kurama, wear this," said Hiei and pushed Kurama the hair band. Kurama gulped, looking at Hiei. Cold sweats were already forming on the insides of his palms and temples...

      "Hn?"

"Er... Hiei, why don't we buy this and I'll wear it for you at home?" suggested Kurama, taking the hair band and began walking towards the payment counter. There was no doubt that Hiei might have just created a commotion there...

"Eh?" asked the counter girl in surprise, blinking at Kurama's item of purchase, the same counter girl. Siew Lee. Kurama smiled and he could feel his cheeks going hot. :… Thanks to a short-tempered youkai and I'm forced to do all this …:

The counter girl giggled at him as she stapled the small package and handed it to Kurama that was blushing fierily. "Do... doumo..." shuttered Kurama and walked off quickly, dragging Hiei with him.

Hiei and Kurama stepped on the escalator to lift them up to another floor. "Thank Inari-sama... We are here at last..." mumbled Kurama. The sight of denim overalls and chequered jackets met his sight while Hiei tapped his foot impatiently on the floor.

“Aw Hiei... This blue denim overalls looks nice on you..." cooed Kurama as he took the article off the hanger and placed it against Hiei's slender body frame.

"Nice?" asked Hiei, lifting an eyebrow and giving Kurama a deadly glare. "Er... maybe not," continued Kurama quickly and put the overalls back into place.

"Hm, I like this one," smiled Kurama at a red chequered jacket and turned around to ask Hiei's opinion.

"I want one too," growled Hiei as he picked up a smaller sized jacket of the same material. Without waiting for Kurama's answer, he began putting on the jacket.

Kurama smiled pleasingly at the jacket. "I'll buy one for you and one for myself," said the boy and took another jacket from the rack. "Hiei, hand me that jacket."

Hiei ignored him and walked away. "I want this too," said Hiei and pointed at a pair of denim shorts.

"Alright then," Kurama sighed and picked a pair of shorts labelled '24'. "It ought to fit you..."

"Stop being so fussy, kitsune. I know I can fit into that or do you want me to strip here and try on it?" snarled Hiei and began unfastening his belt. He knew that the youko would suffer jealousy fits!

"Okay, okay!”

Kurama sighed in relieve when Hiei stopped unbuckling his second belt. He took off the red jacket that Hiei wore just now and slung the jacket and shorts on his shoulder, putting down the things he had paid for before next to them. Then he went forward to refasten the belts up for his dear koorime.

“You like this, Hiei?” asked Kurama straightening up, showing the shorts to Hiei. He nodded. Kurama smiled and forgotten all the irritating embarrassing things that Hiei did that day. “Let’s see what else we can get for ourselves and for kaasan,” said Kurama thoughtfully eyeing the other side of the clothes section where the women attires were displayed. :… This place is full of women attires. The level just now, dresses, here, denim wear and… lingerie? Hah! What the hell… what can I get for kaasan? …:  pondered the kitsune.

When he returned his gaze back to where he thought Hiei would be, the fire demon was gone! Kurama panicked and looked around frantically. Afraid that he would blow up the place if something doesn’t fit his senses.

Bulma dusted the imaginary dusts on the pale lavender coloured lingerie and hung it back on the rack, smiling pleasantly at it. After a tiring session of running to all the levels in the mall to collect cash receipt registers, it was time for her to settle down in her own department. The Lingerie Department. She ruled this place because she’s the only sales assistant here in the lingerie section. :… What a pleasant place …: she thought to herself.

Her happy face turned into a frown when she saw someone poking at ‘her’ mannequin’s breast. She curled her lips and walked over to the ‘guy’. “Excuse me, can I hel… hey, it’s you!” she smiled. It was the boy she saw just now which Siew Lee was head over heals for.

Hiei looked sideways at the girl who was talking to him. She was about a few inches taller than he was. “You talking to me? I don’t seem to know you,” he grunted. Bulma rolled her eyes. “See anyone else here?” she replied sarcastically. Hiei looked behind him and shook his head. But soon, he ignored her and resume watching the lighted up mannequin.

He ran his slender fingers along the silky material of the mannequin’s brassier and down to the panties. “I want this,” he showed Bulma the blood red coloured satin panties. “And do you have smaller sizes of this?” he pointed at the brassier. Bulma arched her brow. “Wait a minute,” she uttered, reaching for the sales item list. “What size is she?” she asked absent-mindedly.

“Her? It is for a ‘him’! And how should I know what size is he? But he’s about a foot taller than you,” told Hiei most honestly. Bulma suppress her laugh and leaned on ‘her’ mannequin. “Look, boy. Guys DON’T wear things in this section. Only girls wear it. And trust me, this ‘he’ of yours won’t wear this,” said Bulma pointing at the blood red satin panties.

Hiei glared deadly at Bulma with his red bloodshot ruby eyes, she gulped. “Okay, okay, I’ll get it for you,” said Bulma and went a bit further to get the sizes Hiei wanted.

Someone tapped on Hiei's shoulder and he looked up from studying the sexy laced satin night-gown. “Here,” said Bulma, shoving the panties and brassier into Hiei's hand. “He should fit into a size 2 ‘panties’ and a size 38AA brassier. If it still looks like a bag, there’re these sponges that could help him up,” said Bulma, shoving a box of ‘cupped’ sponges together with the other things in his arms.

Hiei gave her a small satisfactory smile and nodded once.

“Hiei!” a soft exclaim were heard. Both turned and saw a redhead standing about 6 feet tall rushing their way. :… Ahh… here comes the cute guy …: Bulma leaped silently in her heart. “Hiei, what’re doing here?” asked Kurama, started to blush again.

“Hiei eh? He’s sure determined to change you into a girl, ne?” Bulma commented and pushed the sales receipt into Kurama’s hand. “I assume you’re paying, rite?” she smiled and turned, writing something in her file.

Still, she was curious about what they’re taking about… So she eavesdropped.

“Hiei, what are these for?” asked Kurama holding the lingerie in his hand, kneeling in front of Hiei. “You, Kurama,” replied the koorime. “But only girls wear these kind of stuffs, itoshii,” sighed Kurama. “I know she told me so,” answered Hiei casually. Bulma was already suffering from a ‘I-can-die-holding-my-laugh’ disease; she was getting all blue.

“Then?” asked Kurama, raising his voice but in some sort of a whisper. “Well, girls wear what guys wear. Why don’t guys wear what girls wear?” asked Hiei. Kurama was dumbfounded. He sighed. “All right,” he straightened up. :… Maybe after we had fun with it, I’ll give it to Shiori …: thought Kurama eyeing the receipt in his hand. :… 38AA? Size 2? I don’t think she’ll fit in it …: Kurama sighed mentally.

“Ikuzo, koibito… let’s find some more things,” he put his hand on Hiei's shoulder.

“Ano, chotto matte Kurama-san,” stopped a voice. Bulma went to Kurama and bowed. “Can I take these items to the counter while you survey other things?” she asked, gesturing to the jackets, ‘lingerie’ and shorts in Kurama’s arm. Kurama nodded. “Doumo arigatou,” he smiled, Bulma nodded and turned. “But, how did you know my name?” asked Kurama. “I have ears,” she answered and took the items to the cash counter.

 Kurama was blushing furiously now…

Bulma sang softly to the Christmas song that were playing in the mall and smiled as she saw a sour faced Siew Lee in the counter. “You? I thought you were on your lunch break now?” asked Bulma. “That Sylvia la! She had a serious stomach-ache and practically begged me for taking up her place. I ought to have a raise of pay for this!” she mumbled.

Bulma chuckled and stacked the items on the counter. “Guess to whom these belong to?” asked Bulma. Siew Lee frowned. “How should I know?” she rolled her eyes. “Haha. Well… ‘these’ belongs to that tall gorgeous redhead we saw just now,” said Bulma, separating the lingerie from the others.

Siew Lee gave Bulma a ‘so-what’ look. “It might be for his girlf… wait a minute…,” Siew Lee paused and her jaw hung low. Bulma nodded. “And Hiei bought it for him. In a sense though, although Kurama pays for it,” she turned her attention back to the items and started to fold it nicely. “So, I assume the redhead’s name is Kurama and the other cute one is Hiei?” asked Siew Lee. Bulma nodded, folding the chequered red jacket.

Finally, Kurama came back with two pairs of brown coloured jeans, two brown coloured button down shirt, men’s briefs, socks, two Chinese collared tunic and… the sexy lace satin night-gown Hiei was eyeing before. :… sweatdrop …: Kurama stopped on his tracks when he saw Siew Lee and Bulma on the counter. :… Damn… they’re going to laugh at me …: he bit his lips.

Kurama cleverly hid the night-gown in between the other stuffs and walked to the counter with Hiei following closely behind.

Kurama came and put the items on the counter, reaching for his credit card in his wallet.

Siew Lee scanned the bar codes on the items with a funny smirk on her already red face.

Kurama, trying to cool down his flushing cheeks tried to make a conversation. “Ano, I thought I saw you just now in another level?” he asked Siew Lee. “Oh that, my colleague had a stomach-ache and begged me to take her place. I’m suppose to enjoy lunch now, you know?” she shoved the items to Bulma and widened her eyes as she picked up a black satin night-gown to scan. “Umm… nice pick,” she uttered. Hiei who was drumming his fingers on the counter snorted. “Quick, before the dolts come,” he muttered.

“98,000 yen please,” she told Kurama as he handed her his credit card. Bulma handed 3 paper bags to Kurama and 1 to Hiei while Siew Lee fussed with the credit card.

“Arigatou Gozaimasu, come again,” she uttered and handed Kurama the card and receipt.

When both youkais walked out of the store, Kurama was busy fumbling with his Christmas List. He wanted to get a gift for Hiei right now, or at least to know what he wanted. "Kurama…" Hiei began. "Yeah…?" Kurama replied, still looking around for something he could buy for Yuusuke, Kuwabara and Hiei. "…What are those things with cushions for anyway? I mean, why can't you wear it, even if it looks good on you?" This made Kurama freeze and blushed furiously. "Uhm… ano, Hiei… it’s for women… for… uhm… their upper part…" Hiei blinked. "What do you mean?" Kurama bit his lips. "Erm… it’s for the… uhm… breasts…" Kurama replied, sweat forming on his head.

"Ah… so you mean Keiko wears it?" Hiei asked, without thinking twice. Kurama gulped. "Yes, and don’t you dare try to strip her just to find out if I'm telling the truth," Hiei blinked innocently. "Aw… why can't I?" Kurama poked his nose. "Or else, I'll be very, very jealous," Kurama replied, biting Hiei's button nose playfully. "Itai! …Mochiron, mochiron…" Hiei muttered, rubbing his nose.

Then Kurama straightened up. "Now, I wonder where we can go…?" Hiei looked around until his eyes saw the most beautiful place on earth.
"Kurama, there!" Hiei said, pointing to the shop where he really wanted to go. "T-The toy store----ah!" Kurama stammered, his body being pulled by Hiei. "I want to go here… since its Christmas, I might want something," Hiei replied, knowing that Kurama would be spoiling him rotten. Kurama reluctantly agreed, following Hiei around.

Hiei noticed a sexy doll dressed in pink. It had blonde hair and
Hiei read the title slowly. "B-a-r-b-i-e… Kurama, what's this?" Hiei asked, trying to reach the doll that was placed on a higher shelf. "It’s a doll for girls, Hiei… I don’t think it would be a good idea to buy it," Kurama replied, trying to stop himself from laughing at the small koorime who was trying to reach the higher shelf. "Hn," Hiei grunted, looking around.

Suddenly, Hiei noticed shelves of robots and Gundams. "Hmm, this looks like one of the cartoons you watch, Kurama…" Hiei noticed, showing Kurama one Gundam model. "Ah…do you want one?" Kurama asked, desperately thinking how much that would be. "Hmm… I'll think about it," Hiei replied, walking to another aisle.

"Kurama, what's that?" Hiei suddenly piped up. "Hmm? What do you mean?" Kurama replied, looking at the stuffed toys. "I heard something… that way…" Hiei replied, suddenly disappeared in a blur of black. "Hiei!!!" Kurama shouted, looking worriedly around the place.

Kurama walked straight to the Customer Service. He tapped the shoulder of the girl in front of him, wearing a skimpy miniskirt and high-heels, with the nametag that read, "Emerald." "Uhm… excuse me… but have you seen a *little* cute kid with spiky hair around here?" Kurama asked, biting his lips. "I saw him over there, miss. Are you his mother?" she asked, trying to remember where exactly she really saw him. "Actually, I'm not his mother… and I'm not a girl…" Kurama replied, his face wore a pink blush. "Oh! Gomen… but if my memory is correct, I think I saw him over there, near the FURBIES." She replied, writing something on a piece of paper.

Kurama nodded and muttered a short utter of thanks to the girl. The problem was what exactly were FURBIES? He had heard of them around but didn't actually know much about it. "Sorry, but I don't really know what FURBIES are…" Kurama replied, looking confused. Emerald blinked. "Go to that girl over there in blue… she'll tell you where you will meet your boy," Kurama nodded once and muttered, another utter or thanks before leaving the counter.

"Oi, Emerald… cute guy you met," A girl suddenly piped up, giggling at her blushing friend. "Rhionae, if I were you, I would be running marathons right now… " Emerald replied, clenching her fists. "Don't get too sensitive… but I do think you would have just kept him here with you," Kumiko suddenly said, coming to her friend's rescue.
"Argh… both of you are always against me," Emerald whined. "We
know," Kumiko and Rhinoae replied simultaneously, slapping Emerald's back playfully.

"Oh, holy night… the stars are brightly shi------ning… hmm-hmm…" a short hair girl sang softly, fixing the disarranged toy cars in the shelf. Kurama walked slowly to her and tapped her shoulder. "Ah! Eme----oh my… gomen nasai!" She apologized, looking embarrassed. She was also wearing what Emerald was wearing although she was wearing blue. "Hello, I'm Yukiko and welcome to The Toy Store… what do you need? Would you like the newest model of Ferrari?" Yukiko asked, showing him a box of a toy car. "Oh, I'm not really here to buy a toy car… I would just like to know where I can find the FURBIES…?" he asked, fumbling with his fingers. "Oh! Ok… it’s right next to this section…" She replied, directing him to the shelves on the next aisle.

"Way loh koh koh…zzzzz…" Kurama looked around. "What was that? What was talking?!" Kurama asked, thinking why a youkai would be in Ningenkai. "Oh! That was a furby… it meant, 'I am sleepy'…" replied Yukiko imitating a funny voice, pointing to a moving and… furry animal? Kurama picked it up. "Ah! Ah! Me scared!" it suddenly shouted that made
Kurama jump. "Kya! Is it real?!" Kurama asked, almost dropping it to the floor. Yukiko chuckled. "No…! It is just a toy that talks and moves like a real pet… that's why it's sometimes described as an Electronic Pet…" Kurama smiled sheepishly and returned it to the shelf and looked around for his koibito.

Suddenly, someone grabbed Kurama's ass that made him yelp. He turned around and was about to show that person a lesson until a pair of ruby-colored eyes met his emerald gems. "Hiei! W-What did you do that for?!" Kurama asked, planting a kiss on his forehead. "I just HAD to get your attention… Kurama, don’t kiss me in public…" Hiei muttered with a flushed face. Kurama blushed. "Gomen…" Hiei smirked and pulled Kurama to show him something.

"Itoshii, I want one like this…" Hiei trailed off, holding up a FURBY. Kurama paled. "Are you sure?" Hiei nodded. Kurama sighed and tapped Yukiko.

"How much is this?" Kurama asked. "Its ¥40,000… are you going to buy it?" Kurama nodded. "Just walk in a straight line to your front and you'll find the cashiers… Have a nice day!" Yukiko replied, fixing the line of FURBIES on the shelves.

When Kurama and Hiei walked to the cashier, he saw Emerald again. "Oh, hello again! You found him already?" Emerald asked, getting the box. "Hai… and thanks," Emerald nodded once and blushed. "No problem… uhm, its ¥40,099… plus tax," Kurama got his credit card from his wallet and handed it to her. "Arigatou… " She muttered as she fumbled with the credit card and packed the toy up with a green paper. "Thank you for shopping in The Toy Store… Please come again!" Emerald bid them both goodbye and handed the package to them.

Emerald suddenly heard giggles. "Oi, what are you laughing
at?!" Emerald demanded. Yukiko burst out laughing. "You… if you plan to get that guy, I am afraid you are not going to succeed…" Emerald winced. "What made you think that?!" Yukiko grinned and whispered in her ear. "They are lovers." She widened her eyes. "You've gotta be kidding… so you mean he's gay?!" Yukiko narrowed her eyes. "Umm…! I don’t KNOW… but that redhead guy is Kurama and that cute little boy is Hiei… he's so cute that I want to pinch him." Yukiko muttered. "Oh, now look who's talking!" Emerald declared. "Kuso…" Yukiko replied and stuck out her tongue at her snickering friend.

"Oi, Kurama… I see you met a lot of girls today…" Hiei muttered, a small tone of jealousy could be heard. "Ano, Hiei… are you jealous?" Kurama suddenly asked, snickering. "Hn! Why do you think that anyway?!" Hiei demanded, narrowing his eyes. "It's because you look cute when you are… besides, I don't think I would fall for girls in miniskirts…" Kurama replied, hugging the small koorime closer. "Yeah…you only fall for macho guys, and that's me…" Hiei said nonchalantly as he crossed his arms. Kurama couldn’t figure out if Hiei was sarcastically talking about the facts or what. "You are totally right about that." Kurama smiled sweetly, ruffling Hiei's hair.

"Kurama, I'm hungry." Hiei complained. "Wanna eat somewhere?" Kurama asked. "Yeah… the ice cream store…" Hiei replied with a dreamy smirk. "Okay…" Kurama tugged Hiei's arm and looked for an ice cream store or just an ice cream cart for his little darling.

Kurama’s eyes widened as he saw the signboard Haagen-Dazs. As he was just going to tell his darling koorime about it, he was pulled towards the shop. “There, Kurama!” Hiei snickered evilly at the ice-cream shop.

They entered the shop and a tingly sweet scent filled their nose. Hiei’s eyes sparkled as he leaned over the counter and spotted the display of ice cream flavours. “Chocolate Fudge… Peanut Crusher… Berry Cherry… Splashing Strawberry… Gorgeous Grape…” Hiei read one by one. He maybe even memorised every ice-cream name there is, that’s why he was so fluent in it.

His mind was in a whirl, and he couldn’t decide which to pick. “What are your orders?” asked a pretty blue-hair girl who suspiciously looked like Botan. She wore a pin that indicated “Sapphire” as her name. “Ne, Hiei, what do you want?”

“Ano...what’re you having?” asked the fire demon, his eyes never leaving the ice-cream displays.

“I’m not gonna eat ice cream, Hiei.” Kurama smiled. “Why the hell not?” “It’s not healthy.” Kurama answered simply. “Ch… Stupid fox.” Hiei growled. Sapphire raised her eyebrows toward the couple, arms across her chest.

“Well?” “Chocolate Fudge and Berry Cherry…” Hiei managed to reply, desperately trying to stop his dripping saliva. Kurama grinned. “Hiei, you are so kawaii!”

“Hn.”

“Do you want any toppings on that? Sprinkles? Chocolate chips? Cherries? Oreos? M&M’s? Bananas…?”

“SHUT UP! Let me talk.” Sapphire paled. A touchy customer, albeit a small one too.

All the customers turned to look at the bad-tempered fire demon, that was oblivious to everything that was happening, including his blushing redhead.

“Hehehe… sorry. Carry on, people…” the kitsune grinned weakly. “I want ch-cherries,” he was back to his cute old self. “O-kay… what about syrup? We have lots of varieties. There’s chocolate, strawberry, almond, maple…” She trailed off as Hiei’s arm started to smoke and his glare… oh, if looks could kill…

“Calm down, koi…” Kurama soothed his lover, then turned to Sapphire, “Chocolate would be fine.” The girl nodded and hurriedly gave the ice cream to the fire demon before getting the hell outta this place.

They took a seat at the far end of the room, in a corner booth. The fire demon greedily licked the ice cream at all sides. The fox, on the other hand, was staring dreamily at his lover.

“What are you looking at me like that for?” Hiei sounded annoyed. Kurama sighed. “I was just thinking that if I was that ice cream…” pointing at Hiei’s cone.

Hiei gave him a puzzled look and then smirked as he realised what the fox’s one-track mind was thinking. He began twirling his tongue around the ice cream, and then lightly sucking it at the top. Kurama’s eyes widened and stifled a moan. Hiei continued this process, licking up and down, more hungrily, more quickly. The youko was shivering and he bit his lip, trying to control himself, just when he was about to give in… Hiei bit the ice cream cone hard, that the crunching sound was almost too loud than normal. He then chewed it noisily, the movements of his jaw emphasising how hard Hiei was gnawing the cone. Kurama winced and swallowed hard as if something was caught in his throat.

They walked out of the store, with Hiei looking smug and Kurama, uneasy.

The mall was bustling with people. Salespersons were scattered around the area offering brochures and demos of their latest products.

“Good morning ma’am. How would you like to try our latest scent?” a freckled brunette gestured to Kurama. “A-ano...”

Hiei snorted at his lover’s reaction. Mistaken for a girl again… oh well. “Oh, what a cute little boy! How would you like it if your mommy smells like this, huh?” The girl sprayed a whiff on the paper, and then waved it under Hiei’s nose.

Hiei thought for a while. :… Hn… Kinda smells like roses mixed with musk. Sensual… …:

“We’ll take one.” Hiei answered. The girl was taken aback by the deep voice, but went off anyway and packed a bottle, not noticing Kurama gape at his diminutive koibito.

“Will that be cash or charge?” Kurama handed over his credit card and fixed his eyes on Hiei, not uttering a word. Hiei just blinked innocently. When they were out of the girl’s earshot, Kurama grasped Hiei’s shoulders and whispered to him. “What was that all about?!” He demanded softly. All he got was a ‘hn’.

Kurama looked again at his list. He suddenly stopped and Hiei ended up embedded on Kurama’s back. He snickered as he rubbed his nose. “Why did you suddenly stop?” he muttered. Kurama smiled and put an arm around Hiei’s shoulder. “Well, let’s go into that shop over there and get our Christmas gifts.

Hiei blinked. Kurama showed Hiei his list. “Here, I’ll give you another copy of the list of people we’re getting Christmas presents for,” Kurama showed Hiei a piece of paper, written with a neat handwriting.

Hiei blinked again. “Kaasan, Tousan, Shuuichi-kun, Yuusuke, Kuwabara, Keiko, Yukina, Atsuko, Botan, Shizuru, Genkai and Koenma…” Hiei trailed off.

Kurama smiled and nodded. “Yes Hiei, you take this list and a pencil,” Kurama reached out for a small pencil in his pocket. “When you already got a present for each person, you tick on it so you won’t forget. You can even write next to the name what did you buy,” Kurama explained. Hiei shrugged.

Kurama put his arms around Hiei and walked into the gift shop. The sales girl smiled at them and attended to them. “Can I help you?” she asked. Kurama nodded. “Can you please give you 2 baskets?” Kurama asked. The girl nodded and head to the counter to get 2 frilly baskets to fill gifts in it.

The girl handed the baskets to each of them and smiled. “Happy gift shopping,” she bowed. Kurama muttered a short thanks to her and turned to Hiei. “I’ll get the presents for my list and you get yours okay? I’ll be just around here if you need me,” Kurama kissed Hiei’s forehead and went to get some gifts.

Hiei blinked. The looked at the paper again and frowned.
:… Kurama’s Kaasan… what to get for her? …: Hiei frowned as he spied around with his eyes. He thought for a while as his eyes landed on a set of teapot and half dozen sets of cups. It was in a pale blue colour and it looked decently beautiful to his eyes. :… Kurama’s kaasan might like it,” he smiled and took the box next to the displayed sample. He opened the box carefully and inside there was the teapot and glasses in a bed of sponges. He shrugged and closed it back, putting it inside his basket.

:… One down, 11 more to go …” he said to himself and he looked at the names on the list. He took out the pencil he was given and wrote ‘teapot’ next to the name ‘kaasan’. :… Next, Kurama’s Tousan… : he said as he ventured around looking for a suitable thing.

Kurama too had found something for his dearest mother. It was this perfume. The bottle was nice and perfect, the shape of a small dome. The smell were soft mingles of flowers and strawberry; young and vibrant. He carefully put the box into his basket and went to look for a present to give his stepfather.

Hiei looked at a weird thing. The picture next to it had a guy sticking that thing to a rope around the guy’s neck. A girl came over and smiled at Hiei. “Do you like tie pins to give your daddy, boy?” she asked. “Tie pins?” he echoed quizzically. “Yes, these are the perfect gifts for fathers,” she smiled. Hiei blinked and took one, then continued to write the word ‘tie pin’ next to ‘tousan’.

“I honestly don’t know what to get for tousan,” Kurama sighed. He looked around and blinked. There it was, catching his eye was a small crystal in a shape of the ‘lucky cat’. Kurama smiled. :… This should be good to put on his desk at work …: he smiled and put a lucky cat crystal that’s in a box into his basket.

Hiei narrowed his eyes at Kurama’s stepbrother’s name. He thought boys like that should want a thing called ‘CD’. He walked towards the music department and frowned. There were hundreds of them. Which one should he pick? He saw a girl around the corner and eyed her. She was with a boy and he was carrying a basket identical to his. :… Maybe it’ll be good to ask …: Hiei said as he approached the couple.

“Um… hello…” he called. The boy looked at him and smiled. “Yes?” he asked. “Er… can you help me out?” he asked. The boy nodded. “Sure man, what is it?” he asked, the girl smiled at Hiei.

“Well, I have this friend I want to buy a Christmas present for… Do you know what a 14 year old boy would want for Christmas?” he asked. The boy nodded. He scanned the CD rack next to them and picked out a CD. “This is a hit. I bet you he’ll be crazy with this,” The boy handed Hiei the CD. Hiei smiled. “Thanks,” he uttered and walked away.

“He’s cute,” said the boy. “His voice is deep,” the girl commented and they resumed to their shopping.

Kurama was just on the other side of the music section, getting a Playstation CD for his brother. He had heard his brother talking about the latest Playstation game that was ‘Resident Evil 3 – The Nemesis’.

Hiei wrote ‘CD’ next to Shuuichi’s name and looked around to find something for Yuusuke.

The name rang in his tiny head. :… Yuusuke… Yuusuke… Yuusuke… what to get for him? …: Hiei ‘hmphed’ and walked his feet steadily towards a section written ‘Mittens’. He looked around and smiled at the various kinds of mittens but nothing that he got in his mind. A girl walked over to him and asked. “Anything special on mind you don’t see?” she inquired. Hiei blinked. Surprisingly he nodded.

“You know the mittens they wear for… riding on those boards that have wheels?” he asked. The girl blinked. “Board that have wheels…? hmm…” she was in deep thoughts.

“Skateboards?!” her eyes widened. Hiei blinked. “Maybe,” he answered. The girl giggled. “Those aren’t mittens! Those are gloves. Go over to the sport accessory section,” she pointed to the other side.

Hiei uttered a low thank you and walked over to the other side. He found a black glove that fits the boy fine. It’ll be cool when he wears this and shoots the rei-gun. Hiei’s mind still couldn’t get off battles even if it’s Christmas. He dumped it in his basket and drew something that looked suspiciously like a pair of hands next to Yuusuke’s name.

Kurama on the other hand just put a box of model aeroplane in his basket.

Hiei’s eyes nearly bulged out when Kuwabara’s name appeared. A snicker was clearly seen on his face. He looked around, really trying to get something nasty for the poor guy. Really nasty. Suddenly the image of Kurama and Yukina appeared in his head. He could sink on his feet now.

He let out a sigh and turned to his left. It was the rack, which has hair dyes on it. Spray ons, permanents, semi-permanents, single use, mascara…

He snorted and just grabbed something, dumping it in the basket. It was the spray on hair dye. Poor koorime didn’t even bother to look at the colour. It was the sick neon green. Gods.

Kurama being the tender kind guy with the heart of gold immediately remembered that Kuwabara loved cats when he saw the guy’s name. He ran towards the kid’s section and got him a lovely plush cat with soft white fur.

Hiei looked at the remainder names. Keiko, Yukina, Atsuko, Botan, Shizuru, Genkai and Koenma. Hiei decided he was too tired to look around anymore. He was standing near the racks with tons of cute little things. He grabbed a pan shaped fridge magnet for Keiko, He ran over to the other side to get a bottle of miniature whisky for Atsuko, ran back to this side to get Botan an oar shaped pen with a boat shaped holder. He blinked again and took a mini Ferrari paperweight for Shizuru and finally he ran to the baby’s section to get a pacifier for Koenma. :… He needs to get that blue one changed… to a red one… …: he smiled. And also a nice wall scroll for the old lady.

:… Just another one …: he looked around for something that he could give to Yukina. His eyes stopped on a sign.

  ‘A Single Bear Everyday’

Hiei frowned and walked closer. As he was in front on the sign, there were bags and bags of bears. In each bag were 7 different bears. A girl came up to him and explained. “The normal price for these bears would be ¥3500. But were having and offer for Christmas. It’ll be only ¥700 only if you buy things for over ¥1000 in a single receipt,” then her eyes drifted off to Hiei’s basket. “I don’t think you have to worry about that,” she smiled. Hiei blinked and smiled as well. Sarcastic it was.

The girl was having cold sweats. Hiei rolled his eyes and grabbed the bag of bears and went off. Smiling at his complete set of list.

Kurama was done on his side as well. He got a small recipe book for Keiko. Plush snow white puppy with soft grey stripes for Yukina. Also a miniature alcohol, but an XO for Atsuko. A nice bobby blue hair ribbon for Botan. A box of cigar for Shizuru and Koenma, a nice thick storybook titled ‘Vampire Armand’ by Anne Rice. He bought Genkai a pair of cute furry mittens for the cold Christmas.

Hiei was walking his way towards the cash counter to wait for Kurama when his mind suddenly drifted to the redhead. And in his list, he didn’t get anything for him.

He sighed. His eyes were active looking on the things displayed on the counter. He leaned up and asked. “If you’re getting your lover a Christmas present, what would it be?” he asked the cashier. The girl blinked and shrugged.

“Dunno, maybe… myself on Christmas…” she teased Hiei. Hiei blinked and thought for a while. “Maybe…” he nodded. Then he pointed at a big red and green bow. “I’ll get that on as well,” he said as the cashier got him the ribbon.

Kurama came moments later and smiled at Hiei who was already there. “Oh Hiei… You’re fast,” Kurama smiled as he put his basket on  the counter.

The cashier started on Kurama’s items; then Hiei’s. It was separated. The cashier told them that the gifts would need at least an hour to get wrapped. They will write a small sticker on the outside of each gift to identify what’s inside so that they could write the recipient’s name outside later. Considering the price of what Kurama paid, they offered for the gifts to be delivered directly to his house. Kurama was happy about that.

Since the ribbon was free, Hiei kept it inside his other paper bag.

After a few steps outside the shop, A very loud and familiar howl was heard.

“Ahh!! Yukina-san!!!” Hiei blinked at the mention of his sister’s name. Kurama smiled. He knew how much Hiei loved to see his sister. And How much annoyed he would be if Kuwabara arrived first before him. The redhead held the boy’s hand and pulled him over to the two girls.

“Yukina-chan,” Kurama smiled. As they arrived, Kuwabara and Yuusuke were behind them. “Hello Kurama-san, Hiei-san, Kazuma-san and Yuusuke-san,” she greeted. Keiko blinked and knocked Yuusuke. “You’re suppose to get Christmas presents,” she uttered.

“What did you bought, Yukina-chan?” Kurama asked, his arms sliding on Hiei’s shoulder. “Oh, these,” she pointed at her bags. “Christmas presents! I bought Hiei-san and you…” suddenly Keiko came and covered her mouth. “No Yukina! You’re not supposed to tell them!!!”  she stopped the poor koorime.

Hiei sighed. He really wanted to know what Yukina bought for him. His thoughts drifted to the gift he bought for the ice maiden. The bag of bears, he hope she liked it.

Hiei and Kurama got home and the gifts arrived a few hours later. The household was still quiet. Both of the Hatanaka’s were still at work to finish up the remaining or work before they take the long holiday until the new-year.

Kurama looked at the mysteriously wrapped gifts. “Hiei, what are these?” he asked. Hiei shrugged and started gathering his gifts and grabbed the pen that was around to write the names.

Kurama blinked as the lithe fire demon’s hands fondled with the pen clumsily. He took the one that was labelled ‘teapot’ and peeled off the sticker, writing ‘Shiori’ on it.

“So, kaasan’s going to get a teapot?” Kurama asked as he watched Hiei closely. Hiei nodded. His face had this odd looking expression on. The redhead kept watching as the koorime started peeling off stickers and writing names on it.

“Silent Night… Holy Night…” Hiei eyed Kurama as the redhead rushed over to the door. “Another circus group?” he asked. Kurama paused and pulled Hiei with him. “Come Hiei, you should learn more about Christmas,” he smiled.

Kurama took the basket of ready-wrapped fruitcakes and sweets to the door and opened it. “… All is bright …” they kept on singing. Kurama smiled warmly and handed out the basket of candies. The carollers happily took some goodies and kept singing. Then there’s a young boy carrying a small box that has the word ‘donation’ on it. Kurama gladly reached into his pocket and get a ¥100 out for the donation box.

The bowed thank you and turned around, still singing. Hiei looked at them as Kurama bid farewell to them. “That was the 4th group,” he shook his head and went back inside.

  ‘Rr…ring..!’

“Please pick up the phone, itoshii,” Kurama said, still standing on the chair , putting Christmas ornaments on the tree. Hiei took the phone, which was next to him and blinked. “What?” he said immediately. Kurama blinked. “Oh Hiei… I‘ll be doomed if it’s one my aunts,” Kurama sighed.

“Eh, Kurama… your auntie,” Hiei said aloud as he handed the phone towards Kurama. “Well… spoken too soon I guess,” Kurama jumped down from the chair and took the phone.

“Moshi-moshi… ah… hai obasan… ehehe… sou, merry Christmas to you too! … Oh just now? That was my friend, we were actually expecting another call from our friend…yes, yes… we’re going for a Christmas party soon… hai, hai… I will tell kaasan and otousan… yoshi… hai, hai… sou, ja na!”

Hiei eyed the interesting phone conversation. Kurama sighed when he put down the phone. “Hiei, never answer a phone with ‘Nani?’ next time, okay?” Hiei shrugged and pulled Kurama down to the couch with him. Kurama smiled and kissed the fire demon. Hiei rested his head on Kurama and sighed contentedly.

“I love you…” Hiei said softly. Kurama blinked. “Hiei!” he looked into those ruby eyes and smiled. The redhead hugged his fire demon happily and closed his eyes.

  ‘Rr…ring…’

“Now, I’ll answer…” Kurama trailed off as he reached out to get the phone. “Moshi-moshi… donata desu ka?” Kurama asked. Hiei smiled at the politeness of his kitsune. “Already? Okay, we’re coming!” Kurama laughed as he put down the phone.

“It’s all set… let’s go,” Kurama smiled. “GO?” Hiei asked. “Hiei, they’re having the Christmas party at Genkai’s,” Kurama nuzzled Hiei’s nose. Hiei blinked. “You don’t expect us to get all the presents there by foot, do you?” he asked.

Kurama laughed. “No, itoshii… come help me,” Kurama got up and took the gifts they’d wrapped that day. Hiei followed suit and got curious when Kurama opened the door to the garage. There was a beautiful red convertible in there. “Whose is it?” Hiei asked. Kurama smiled. “Mine. Tousan’s Christmas present to me,” he said simply as he put the gifts inside carefully.

Hiei blinked and put the gifts inside the car’s backseat.

When they’re ready. Hiei sat in the passenger seat and watched as Kurama sat in the driver’s seat. :… He’s so beautiful …: Hiei sighed dreamily.

“Where’s your parents?” Hiei asked as they sped away into the night. “Um? Oh… they’re having a Christmas-eve party at one of the hotels,” Kurama answered as he turned around a corner. Hiei eyed his fox. He looked so good driving a car.

The whole temple was lighted up with Christmas lights. The Sakura tree in the compound was suspiciously trimmed into a pine-tree look-alike, the whole temple looked like it was going to burst anytime soon.

“Is that a disco or Genkai Shihan’s temple?” Kurama inquired as they parked the car.

After a 15 minutes struggle with the high fleet of stairs and a massive amount of gifts, they reached the door. “Merry Christmas!” Kurama exclaimed at the door. A bobby blue-hair ferry-girl slid open the door and blew a party whistle that hit Kurama right on the nose. “Oh, Merry Christmas Kurama and Hiei!” she laughed as the door slid open wider for them both.

“STOP!” Yukina suddenly exclaimed. Everyone was startled. “What? What is it, Yukina-chan?” Kuwabara asked in concerned. Yukina skipped to the door and smiled. “Look up, you two are under the mistletoe! Now you two have to kiss!” she smiled. Everyone went red, especially Kurama. Hiei smiled, he’d do anything to make his sister happy. “Sure thing,” he turned to Kurama and grabbed the sweet redhead by his sidelocks, giving him a wet sloppy kiss on the mouth.

Yuusuke laughed. “You’re in a jolly good mood today, aren’t you kawaii-hito?” he teased the boy, regarding what Hiei was wearing. Kurama got him a Santa-like jacket with cute furs around his neck, and the end of his sleeves.

“You’re late shrimp!” Kuwabara grinned as he had Yukina seated next to him. Hiei blinked. “No comment,” he said as he sat next to the table, peering on some food. Yukina instantly got up and showed Hiei one of her dishes. Hiei smiled sneakily and looked at Kuwabara with a ‘I-don’t-need-to-say-anything-and-I-can-still-annoy-you’ look.

Kurama gave everyone a loving hug after putting the presents under the tree…

They had a beautiful dinner with one of the largest turkey ever, Hiei and Kuwabara had their eyes on the other drumstick after Kurama took his. Both gnarled and embedded both of their knifes into the turkey’s leg.

“You overgrown zit, let go of my drumstick!” Hiei bit his lower lips. “You shrunken snail, let go of MY drumstick!” Kuwabara insisted. :… This I bad …: Kurama thought and put his drumstick on Hiei’s plate. “There you go Hiei, a drumstick,” he smiled. Hiei narrowed his eyes on Kuwabara still not letting go. “Hiei…” Kurama trailed off.  Hiei snorted and took a bite on his own drumstick that Kurama gave him.

Other than that, the dinner went well. Genkai was sipping the sake like sponges. Everyone had their share, but they didn’t want to get too drunk to open their present.

Botan cheered. “6… 5… 4… 3… 2… 1… Merry Christmas!!” She shouted. “Yay!” Yuusuke jumped and blew horns. Keiko was playing with the pops and little tiny confetties were flying everywhere.

Koenma made a fake cough and cleared his throat. “I will present you all my presents first. He walked around with a weird looking paper and passed it around for everyone. “This is a wish come true paper. Wish upon it, and you’ll get what you want. Use wisely,” he smirked.

“Good, good!” Kuwabara grinned as he had already planned out what to use it for. Hiei shrugged. “I got presents for all of you too, go take yourselves,” he smiled. Everyone rushed to the tree and took their ‘from Hiei’ boxes.

Botan laughed. “Thanks Hiei, nice…boat,” she grinned and kissed Hiei’s cheeks. Hiei blinked but then got slapped playfully on the back. “Cool gloves, kawaii-hito… arigatou!” Yuusuke continued teasing the boy while putting on the cool gloves. He looked just cool. Kuwabara took out a cylindrical thing from his box and looked at it. “Green spray-on hair dye? Umm… nice colour Hiei…” he started to burst out laughing.

Keiko looked at her tiny piece of ornament. “A fridge magnet,” she smiled. “Yeah, since you have this distinctive liking for pans and dishes, I thought that you might like that,” Hiei smiled, his tone was pure and thoughtful. “Thank you Hiei-kun!” Keiko gave Hiei a kiss, that made Hiei think twice of buying presents for any girls next year.

Atsuko looked at her small bottle of liquor and smiled. “Thoughtful young man… thanks shortie,” she kissed Hiei and gave him a gingerbread cookie. Hiei smiled. Not that he liked the kiss too much, but the gingerbread was quite appetising, he must say.

“Wah! I can put this near the counter!” Shizuru grinned. He had always loved cars, especially Ferraris. She was determined too put the cute paperweight at the cash counter in her hairdressing salon.

Koenma took out his small present from the box and blinked. He read the tag. “For 3 months and above?” Hiei nodded. “I’m not sure what it means, but maybe it said that the thing can be used for more than 3 months,” Hiei smiled innocently. Koenma could just cry. “Why did you give me a baby’s pacifier!?” Cried the now teenage form of Koenma. Hiei blinked. “You don’t like it? I think red fits you,” Hiei smiled. Koenma laughed. “I loved it, you’re so full of it, Hiei!” he laughed like a maniac. The idea of someone giving him a pacifier for Christmas was just too hilarious for himself even. Genkai already hung up the wall scroll on the far east of the room. “Hmm… ‘As hot as the burning fire, as cold as the freezing blizzard, there would be not a single being in this world compared to you experience and passion’. Nice poetic thing you got here Hiei,” she commented. Hiei smiled. “I don’t read that much, but I like the first sentence,” Hiei grinned. Genkai shook her head and sat down for another round of sake.

Yukina opened hers and exhaled a sigh of joy. “Plush bears! 7 of them!” she exclaimed and hugged each and everyone of it. Thank you Hiei-san!” she smiled and hugged Hiei, giving him a kiss on the cheek. Hiei turned tomato-like.

They were all cheering and laughing about Hiei’s idea of weird presents when Kurama suddenly realise that Hiei hadn’t got him a present. :… My fault… didn’t write my name on the list …: he sighed. “What did you get, Kurama?” suddenly Yuusuke asked. Kurama faked a smile, but deep down he was quite disappointed that Hiei didn’t get him anything.

“Can’t find mine,” he shrugged with a smiled. “That’s because it is not even there, baka kitsune,” Hiei said casually. Gods, Kurama felt like crying right then and there. Everyone looked at Hiei with a questioning look.

Hiei smirked. “Wait a sec, I’ll get you your present,” he turned around and took off the jacket. He turned back to Kurama and the redhead blinked. There was a nice ribbon of green and red tied around Hiei’s chest with a big bow in front. “Oh Hiei, you look like a present,” Kurama cooed. The Jaganshi smiled. “Go ahead, untie it,” he told the kitsune. Everyone eyed both of them.

Kurama reached out to take the ends of the bow and pulled it, making the ribbons fell loose off Hiei. Hiei smiled and took his hands out. He slowly opened it and revealed to Kurama and everyone the contents inside his small sturdy hands. A ring made out of Hiruiseki.

“Youko Kurama… I, Jaganshi Hiei would like you to have this ring as the sign of our friendship, love and forever we will be soulmates where ever we might be,” Hiei ended his speech, he was glad it turned out right. “Oh, Hiei… this is so sweet of you,” Kurama could cry, his eyes were watery. This is better than anything he had hoped for.

“Did I get it wrong or did Hiei just proposed to Kurama?” Atsuko asked. “You’re perfectly sane and correct, kaasan,” Yuusuke smiled. “Ei, Shrimp, you want a prize for being the sappy romantic actor of the millennium?” Kuwabara teased as Kurama wrapped his arms around his darling little koorime.

They talked and opened up more presents. Keiko even had the thought of bragging to her friends about getting a present from Minamino Shuuichi at school later. They whole thing ended around 4 in the morning. Since it was late, Kurama dropped Atsuko, Kuwabara and Shizuru off by their house. Yuusuke and Keiko wanted to have a walk together.

By the time they got home, it was nearly 5 o’clock. “Hiei-koi,” Kurama suddenly called as Hiei was already on the bed with all his clothes off and the comforter up to his chin. Kurama took out some plastic bag and put it on the bed. Hiei blinked and sat up.

“What are these?” Hiei asked. “Torture Instruments,” Kurama grinned as he emptied every plastic bag revealing the tweezers and scissors. Hiei blinked. “No, get that thing away from me!” Hiei shrieked as he jumped off the bed with Kurama playfully holding the scissors and tweezers in a funny way.

  “Kurama!!!”
