Proudly playing Superman,

Fifty-two years later, Las Vegas, NV...
and STILL a fan...

...and I'm NOT the ONLY fan, either!

Welcome to my Tribute to SUPERMAN!

I've been a fan of the Man of Steel since my early childhood in the 1950s, watching George Reeves defending "Truth, Justice, and the American Way" on television, and saving my pennies to buy Superman, Action, and World's Finest comics at the local drug store. I began my life's profession, Art, by copying the work of Superman artists Curt Swan, Murphy Anderson, and others before I could even read, and the "Man of Tomorrow" has remained my lifelong hero...

At 22, while serving in the USAF, I was lucky enough to have a letter published in Superman #285 (March, 1975), one of my earliest reviews, a hobby I've continued to this day, currently writing movie and television reviews for Amazon.com.

In 1982, as a class assignment for the Corcoran College of Art and Design (where I received my BFA), I created a comic strip of how I was transported to another dimension, saved by Superman, then joined him and Batman in foiling a nasty Klingon plot to conquer Earth...only to get chewed out by my instructor, upon my return, for being late to class! (Ah, the frustrations of saving the world!)

By the 1990s, I was established as a professional Caricature Artist, and Superman was an enjoyable, recurring subject for me! At left is a 1992 "Lois and Clark" caricature; at right, a 1994 tribute to the three most popular "Men of Steel" to that time...

...and I still draw the "Superman" actors frequently, as you'll see on these pages!

A few years ago, I took up autograph collecting as a new hobby, and I knew that the many actors in the Superman Saga would be an essential part of my collection...and as I created a page to display the photos, I realized I could utilize my artistic and writing skills, as well, and build a truly personal fanpage!

This is the end result...I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed creating it!

In the Beginning, there were two boys with a DREAM...

Conceived and created by two teens, Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, SUPERMAN debuted in fledgling National Periodical (DC Comics) Action Comics #1, in June, 1938, and the adventures of a "Strange Visitor" with more-than-human powers quickly became a sensation! Within just three years, newsstand shelves nationwide were packed with 'costumed Superhero' comics, inspired by Superman's success, and the Man of Steel had already become a icon, so popular that his name achieved instant recognition, worldwide! With America entering WWII, he had spawned several 'Superman'-related comic books, a syndicated newspaper comic strip, a top-rated radio program with Bud Collyer providing Superman/Clark Kent's 'voice', and a series of classic color animated short films, produced by the legendary Fleischer Studios (of "Popeye" and "Betty Boop" fame), with Superman again voiced by Collyer...

...and with the end of the war, live-action adventures would follow...
