Part I - The Rear

The tail light of our 'new' 1956 Chevy Del Rey.

In 1955, tail lights on Chevy's were smaller. Some owners now add the blue dot.

Of course, Cadillac took the fin and tail light to new heights.

And in '57, Chevy had their biggest and last fin.

About that time, Ford produced the Edsel and the FRONT began to get the attention.

Part 3 - Ornamentation

Not that the fronts had been ignored in earlier cars, but radiator caps, then hood ornaments got more attention in the earlier years.

Chief Pontiac was not forgotten by car manufacturers,

nor were manly animals forgotten.

Some ornaments told what was originally under the hood.

Street rod ornamentation might tell you what is under the hood, but it was never sold that way.
