5.....What instruments do you play? - banjo, guitar,mandolin, fiddle, piano, etc. and still learning :o)
6.....Brief musical history past to present...when you got started in music and places you've played, list some media exposures and awards etc.- I was very musically inclined when I was growing up and actually started playing the flute and drums,etc. as a kid then I found the piano and guitar at age 8. As a teenager I played guitar mostly, a little electric piano, bass and sang in my band called the Beaver Band. We played at social events, parties gatherings and at high school events. Over the years I played randomly with different groups of people.
My exposure has been mostly in the last three years such as advertisements in The Rualite Central Electric Coop magazine, The Bend Bulletin, The Source , The Bugle, The Conscious Living, The Spokesman, Kristy Miller TV show, COSA, OOTFA,The Central Oregonian, Central Oregon Bluegrass Group, I play at a lot of open mics around Oregon. I Won 1st place peoples choice singer/songwriter contest at Wheeler County Bluegrass Festival. Also, Won 1st place singer/songwriter of the month for September and October at the Central Oregon Songwriter Assoc..
7.....Do you see yourself as a beginner, advanced.....or a seasoned songwriter? - I see myself as a advanced beginner in some areas and intermediate to advanced in other areas.
8.....What styles of music do you like? - I like singing, writing and playing different styles of music. Don't care for heavy Metal and hard hard rock music.
9.....Are you interested in playing in a band/or filling in for someone... sometime? - Yes.
10....How far do you want to go with your music at this time? Have fun locally? Statewide? Regional/National etc. What are your goals? - My goals are to have fun and enjoy my music, locally, statewide and go where ever the flow takes me and also to the Regional/National etc. that would be great!!
11....Do you have any recorded music? - yes and no. I have recorded music that I will be upgrading to cd in the near future.
12....What is your interests in COSA? What would you like to get out of it? - My interest is to learn from others and how each individual writes, sings and plays their own music. I would like to learn more information on playing instruments, singing and putting songs together. Demo's would be great or even a video tape of someones experience of how they got started and all their downfalls. Someone to give a talk about how to use the stage , microphones, playing your instrument on the stage, electric vs accoustic instruments on the stage, etc. It would be great to see Cosa members working together on each other songs.and giving support to each other.
