A Revolutionary Replacement for The Separatory Funnel in Solvent Extraction Operations. Glauber, an English chemist, described the first precursor of the Separatory Funnel over 300 years ago,in 1689. For nearly 200 years chemists used the Glauber instrument until, in the year 1870, the famous Swedish chemist Berzelius invented the "modern" version of the Separatory Funnel, widely used even today in the laboratory for Solvent Extraction Operations. The good news is that now, over 100 years after Berzelius, a new invention, the MIXXOR SEPARATORY CYLINDER, has become available for laboratory Solvent Extraction Operations. The MIXXOR apparatus represents a significant change and improvement in the basic concept and design of liquid-liquid extraction apparatus. The MIXXOR, already in use in many laboratories worldwide, provides easy, fast, simple and precise mixing of solutions and separation of phases.
