The four Robots and the Rocker- Genesis in Budapest

White and powerful flashing those lights on me. That clock is ticking. NO
SON OF MINE. I wait Phil his voice, from my instinct, but my mind knows,
it comes a new voice. Ray begins.
It's misterious, dark, and clear. It hears like Rael. Ray is the New
Lamb. Every note is on the right place, Tony at the right, Mike on the
left as always. But they doesn't making any little smile. The Harlequin
is missing. Phil and his showman-clown behaviour.
Well, the songs
NO SON OF MINE, CALLING ALL STATIONS, HOLD ON MY HEART (really nice from
Ray), ALIEN AFTERNOON, HOME BY THE SEA, LAND OF CONFUSION, THE LAMB
LIES DOWN, CONGO, MAMA, THE CARPET CRAWLERS, IN THE GLOW OF THE NIGHT,
IT MUST BE SOME OTHER WAY, THROWING IT ALL AWAY, THE DIVIDING LINE, and at
the and INVISIABLE TOUCH and I CANT DANCE. 2 and a half hour.
But! The best was an "Unplugged session", they played accoustic (only
guitars, TONY PLAYED ALSO GUITAR!! Since the Foxtrott, i think, he
doesn't played guitar...) DANCE WITH THE MOONLIT KNIGHT, FOLLOW YOU
FOLLOW ME and
LOVERS LEAP (beginning of SUPPERS READY) as they did in BERLIN aug-97.
It was really beutiful. FOLLOW YOU...So nice, so simple, as a lovesong
can be. LOVERS LEAP... I heard an interview with Ray on the radio and he
told he'd like to sing the hole SUPPERS READY. But he couldn't becouse of
time problems... He's got the courrage to play those songs. Becouse he CAN!!
The lights. I thoughts i'll miss the video-screen, or projector. But
those lights told us the hole story. It's really professional. And the
four sexy robots ;-)
New guitarrist Tony from Ireland. He has to be more spontanious, Ray
also. It was like... "CD sound in concert" no medleys. I really missed
the medleys.
New drummer Nir Zidkhayu or whatever. You can feel that he has played
more heavy-metal or hard rock songs, in his style. He was so powerful,
too powerful for Genesis.
Ray. Well done. Nice voice, good concept, good ideas about the songs. But
please not sooo sad and serious. And i'd like ask for more theather.
Genesis is a rock theather. And happier. As at the and as they played
I CANT DANCE. He asked a girl from audience to "teach him dance" It was a
brilliant idea.
Phil will not be forgotten, but Ray is accepted. Well done!!
