" Do You Know How Much I Miss You?" By: Chibichan

I'm baaack! MWAHAHAHA! Managed to get away from Tiger and Hare. This fic is a song/fic and more or less a Genki/Holly fic "again". The song is from the play the Phantom of the Opera. Never saw the play but heard the soundtrack and loved it. This song in the play was sung for Christine's father who is dead. I know in Monster Rancher Holly's dad isnt dead but it is a good song that really resembles Holly's feelings for her dad. Enjoy :) Chibichan :*)

The seven rebels sat around the fire eating dinner all except Holly who gazed a head. *Where are you? Why did you leave? Why didn't you take me with you?...* She thought silently remembering again when her father left

Suezo look worriedly at Holly relizing she didn't touch her dinner. "Holly.. are you alright? You didn't eat your dinner."

Snapping out of her thoughts she gave a fake smile. "I'm not really hungry. You can eat it." He excepted the bowl and chowed down. Holly looked away so Suezo wouldn't notice a tear that slid down her face. *NO! What am I doing! I promised never to cry again. I promised!* Her thoughts screamed in her head. She didn't notice more tears fell until Genki snapped her out of her thoughts.

"Holly..are you okay? She immedately tried to hide her tears as Genki looked at her worried.

"I'm fine. I just have something in my eye that's all. Excuse me." Quickly she left the campsite leaving 1 human and five monsters in confusion. She walked to a nearby lake as she cried afresh.

She sat on the bank for a while trying to forget the past. Looking up at the moon the memories came rushing back like a wave. Forcing them out of her mind she sadly looked at her hands.

You were once my one companion...

you were all that mattered....

You were once a friend and father -

then my world was shattered...

Wishing you were somehow here again...

wishing you were somehow near...

Sometimes it seemed,

if I just dreamed, somehow you would be here...

Wishing I could your voice again...

knowing that I never would...

Dreaming of you won't help me to do

all that you dreamed I could...

Passing bells and sculted angels,

cold and monumental,

seem, for you, the wrong companions -

you were warm and gentle...

(She took out the magic stone and looked at for a while then grasped it in her hand putting it near her heart.)

Too many years fighting back tears...

Why can't the past just die...?

Wishing you were som how here again...

knowing we must say goodbye...

Try to forgive...

teach me to live...

give me the strength to try...

No more memories,

no more silent tears...

No more gazing across the wasted years...

Help me say goodbye.

She sank to her knees as tears threatened to fall down her check. Feeling a hand on her shoulder she looked up to see Genki with a sad look on his face.

He sat down next to her and looked at the sky. "It's a pretty amazing veiw huh?" She looked up but didn't pay much attention."Yeah..amazing." He turned to her. "Ya know..when I was little, my older brother told me that when I was ever afraid or lonely I should look for the North Star. He said that he would be looking at that star and would be watching over me no matter where he or I was he will always be looking. So may be if you believe it might just happen that your dad is looking at the same star as you.

She smiled at Genki and looked at the North Star and prayed that her father was looking at the sameone. Genki then stood up and offered his hand to her. " We should get back to camp.. It's getting late." She accepted and they walked back to camp to find everyone asleep.

Holly unrolled her sleepingbag and crawled in. She gazed once more at the North Star hearing Genki's words in her head before dozing off to sleep.

The End
