BOWERS

LAST WISH (COPIED FROM SPORTS ILLUSTRATED)
PENNSVILLE-One thing could be said about Bill Bowers-he was a dedicated bowler if one ever lived. At the age of 55, his feats of endurance were remarkable, He competed regularly in 10 different leagues, substituted in several others when the opportunity presented itself and would fill in the remaining time by rolling some practice games. Bill died early this week-his heart, twice scarred by previous attacks, finally gave out. He had one final request. His wife, Ruth, the kind of understanding spouse every bowler dreams of, granted his last wish. Tucked away beneath the funeral blanket when the casket closed was Bill's most prized possession-his bowling ball.
