Will of Edward Hannell of Hockliffe

In the name of God Amen the third day of September in the Eleventh Year of the Reigne of Our Sovereign Lord George the second by the Grace of God of Great Britain Ffrance and Ireland defender of the ffaith and so forth And in the Year of our Lord one thousnad seven hundred and thirty seven I Edward Hannell of the parish of Hockliffe in the County of Bedford yeoman being in health but calling to mind the uncertainty of Life do make this my Last Will and Testament in manner and fform following that is to say ffirst and principally I commend my soul into the hands of Almighty God my Creator and my Body to the Earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my Executrix hereinafter named And as for and concerning my worldly Estate I dispose thereof as follows; Item I do give and bequeath unto our ffour eldest Children that is to say Rebecca wife of my son in Law Thomas Lindon Edward Hanwell my eldest son Abraham Hanwell my second son and John Hanwell my third and youngest son one Guinea apiece only , to be paid unto them severally within one month next after my Decease by my Executrix hereinafter named Item I give unto my daughter Elizabeth wife of Michael Read of Shenly in the County of Buckingham One Guinea to be paid her within one month next after my decease by my Executrix hereinafter named And Lastly I do give and devise unto Elizabeth my Loving Wife All and Singular my Customary or Copyhold Land, Tenenments and Hereditaments whatsoever held of the Mannor of Leighton Buzzard otherwise Grovebury (which I have surrendered to the use of this my Will) for and during the term of her natural life And all the rest residue and remainder of my money Goods chattells and personal Estate not hereinbefore by me given or bequeathed I give unto the said Elizabeth my Loving Wife and I do make her Sole Executrix of this my Last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I have to this my Last Will and Testament set my hand and seal the day and year first above written
