Will of George Parker of Southampton

THE LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT of GEORGE PARKER

In the name of God Amen ______ ______ and twentieth day of October 1638 and in the seventeenth year of the reign of sovereign lord Charles by the grace of God of England ____ ____ and Ireland king Defender of the faith. I George Parker of the town and county of Southampton, ____ being weak and ____ of body, but of good and perfect memory ____ and praise be given unto Almighty God for it ____ and ordains this my last will and testament in manner and form following first. I bequeath my soul unto Almighty God my creator, trusting that through the only merrits of Jesus Christ my Saviour, to be made partakers of life everlasting in His Heavenly Kingdom, and my body I commit unto the earth when it is made to be burned by the ____ of my country in the ____ of St. Lawrence ____ or overseers and for my land and worldly goods that the Lord has bestowed on me. I do give and bequeath the same as follows. Item I give and bequeath unto the ____ ____ of St. Micheal's in the above said and town and county of Southampton Ten Shillings to be paid with in twelve months next after my death. Item I give and bequeath out of ____ in ____ wherein John ____ now ____ xxxxxx five shillings a year for ever to be given every good Friday in Lint unto five old poor men - twelve pounds apiece. Item I do give and bequeath unto my son Robert Parker all my free land lying in and about the town and county of Southampton, and public heirs for ever he or they paying out of the said land ____ ____ other of my children here and or named twenty pounds of lawful money of England apiece when they shall come to be full age of one and twenty years. Item I do give and bequeath unto my son George Parker, and my three daughters, Anne Parker, Elizabeth Parker, and Abigail Parker, twenty pounds apiece so to be paid them by my said son Robert Parker, his heirs, or a time at their ____ being of the full age of one and twenty years. Item I give and bequeath unto my son John Parker and my daughter Margery Parker twenty pounds of lawful money of England apiece to be paid them at the time of their full age of one and twenty years out of the money ____. I shall leave unto my Executrix, but if either, or any of my said children shall depart this life before they come to the said age of one and twenty years, and ____ their said portion then my Will and intent is that the power of the party or parties for ____ shall equally divided amoungst the rest of my children that shall then ____(my son Robert - Executor) and paid unto them with their pounds ____ ____ ____. Item I give and bequeath unto my Aunt Margery, ten Shillings to buy her ____. Item I give and bequeath unto my sister Elizabeth ____ and her daughter Elizabeth wills fourty shillings apiece. Item I give and bequeath unto my two ____ in ____ by name ____ and Mary fifty shillings apiece ____ ____ ____ for given and no time nominated for the payment thereof my will, it shall be paid within four years after my Decease. And nor moniables whatsoever unto my belongings and not herein mentioned or bequeath my Debts ____ and funeral expenses being paid and ____. I do and bequeath unto Abigail Parker my now wife ____ home. I do make and ordain my whole, and soul Executrix of this my last will and testament. And further my will is that my said Executrix shall have the managing profit and benefit of all my said free land for given unto my said son Robert Parker during the time of his nonage or minority. And when he shall be of the full age of one and twenty years then the sum to be delivered him ____ then giving my said Executrix or his asigned ____ ____ for the payment of the said twenty pounds apiece unto forever after of my children as above said. And that this my last will and testament may be executed ____ fulfilled and ____ in all things according to my mind and intent herein declare.
