     parents of James Preston HAWKINS.  He is supposed to have been
     born "somewhere in KY", and he was married in Garrarrd Co., KY
     to Barbara Henderson DAVIS, from Garrard Co., KY.  Have found a
     Hawkins in Garrard Co. in 1800-1805, and several Hawkins' in
     neighboring Woodford Co., where James had land before he married,
     and where the couple first lived.  James P. was born 9-16-1809.

     4-13-1849.  She m. James Solomon DOBSON before 11-15-1872- this
     was when their first child Cynthia Belle DOBSON was born.  They
     lived in Jack CO., TX.  Mary's death certificate states that her
     father was a J.E. HAWKINS but I can't vouch for the validity of

12.  I'm researching the parentage of Keithly(aka Keith) HAWKINS b.
     about 1810 in either AL or TN, m. Rachel GOODNIGHT 5-8-1832 in
     Montgomery Co., IL.  They moved to Southwest MO by 1850, living 
     in Greene and Barry Co.'s between 1850 and 1860.  The family was
     probably evacuated from Barry Co., MO in 1861 along with most of 
     the rest of the population due to the Civil War; they lived in 
     Miami Co., KS for the duration of the war.  Don't know whether
     Keith and Rachel moved back to southwest MO after the war, though
     other family members did.  Their known children were John born
     ~1832, Nancy b. ~1833, Mary J. b.~1838, Peggy M. b.~1839, Amanda
     b.~1842, and Henry H. b.~1847.  Nancy is my line- she married
